Sometimes, your light is not only meant for you, it is meant to help someone else find their way. ✨

At SkillUp Mentorship Program, the vision of our founder, Dr. Regina King’oi, continues to inspire how we serve entrepreneurs and communities.

Her journey reminds us that dreams do not always disappear. Sometimes they simply need encouragement, practical skills, mentorship and someone who believes they can still be achieved.

Her light inspires us to:

✨ Reach more people
✨ Share practical knowledge
✨ Mentor beyond the classroom
✨ Help entrepreneurs rebuild confidence
✨ Create opportunities that can transform lives

And when one person is empowered, they can go on to empower many more.

That is the kind of impact we believe in at SkillUp.

May your light never stop shining, and may it help someone else believe in what is possible.

Tag someone whose journey continues to inspire you.

What can happen when practical skills meet the confidence to start?
For Margaret Mbae, it started with one product.

Through the SkillUp Mentorship Program, she gained practical manufacturing skills for cleaning products and the confidence to turn that knowledge into a business.

Today, Magneers Enterprise has grown into a five-product brand. From soaps to bleach to handwash etc...

That is the kind of impact we want to see at SkillUp.
Not just people attending training.
But people taking what they learn, starting businesses, improving their products, finding customers and creating sustainable sources of income.

Margaret’s journey is a reminder that you do not always need to start big.
Start with one skill.
Start with one product.
Start with what you have.
Then keep building.

At SkillUp, our goal is to turn knowledge into action, action into enterprise, and enterprise into opportunity.

Are you a SkillUp alumnus or alumna with a business you have built or grown using the skills you gained?
Send us a photo of you and your business, together with a short update on your journey. We would love to celebrate your progress and inspire the next entrepreneur to start.

When SkillUp went to Samburu.
Because practical skills should not be limited by geography.

We took the SkillUp Mentorship Program to Samburu for a hands-on beekeeping training, equipping participants with practical knowledge they can turn into income.

Beekeeping is more than harvesting honey. With the right skills, entrepreneurs can build opportunities around honey production, beeswax, value addition, packaging and selling to wider markets.

KALRO’s beekeeping guide illustrates that 10 hives producing about 24 kg of honey each can generate KSh 144,000 in gross annual sales at KSh 600 per kg.

We don't simply teach a skill, we help people see the business opportunity behind the skill.

From Nairobi to Samburu and beyond, we want practical entrepreneurship knowledge to reach communities where it can create real economic opportunities.

Learn the skill. Start with what you have. Build something that can grow.

Would you consider beekeeping as an additional source of income?

And where should we take SkillUp next? Tell us in the comments.

Did you know the global hair oil market was valued at about USD 4.86 billion, that is 628,738,389,540.00 Kenyan Shilling in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 6.75 billion by 2033?

And here’s another fact worth celebrating: this SkillUp hair food and hair oils training was 100% FREE.

Because access to practical business skills should not always be limited by the ability to pay.

Hair food, nourishing oils and scalp-care products are part of an everyday consumer market, creating opportunities for entrepreneurs who can learn how to formulate quality products, package them well, price them correctly and build brands customers can trust. If you study most successful entrepreneurs, they will tell you women are the best consumers.

At SkillUp Mentorship Program, we go beyond teaching people how to make products. We equip them with practical skills they can use to create an additional source of income or grow an existing business.

Learn the skill. Start small. Build your market. Turn knowledge into income. Build an empire with the right systems.

Would you consider adding hair food or hair oils to your product line?

From a bicycle and KSh 5,000 to building a growing product line.

David’s journey shows what happens when skills meet determination. Through the Skill Up Mentorship Program, he gained practical skills, mentorship and the confidence to turn an idea into a business.

Skill gained. Action taken. Life transformed.

Most SMEs are scared of taxes because they are not aware of how taxes actually work and most importantly, they have poor record keeping. If your records are accurate, taxes shouldn't make you anxious.

Hii nayo ni mwesheshe.
Did you know the global hair-care market, including products such as shampoos, conditioners and hair treatments, was estimated at approximately USD, that is, 12,573,780,433,200.00 Kenyan Shilling in 2025? It is projected to reach USD 126.5 billion by 2035.

Na unajua sahii kila mtu analea nywele 🤣🤣🤣.

This growing market presents real opportunities for entrepreneurs who can produce quality products, build trusted brands and respond to customers’ everyday hair-care needs.

But at SkillUp Mentorship Program, training is not enough. Lazima tufike kwa ground and see whether the skills shared have been implemented and transformed into sustainable businesses.

We caught up with Caroline Mugo of Raqueens Beauty Solutions 🥳🥳🥳and this is what she shared:

“SkillUp gave me the accounting, bookkeeping and marketing skills I needed to grow my business with confidence. Today, Raqueens Beauty Solutions has expanded into a thriving brand with multiple KEBS-certified products, and I am now empowering others through the knowledge I gained.

Makofiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳...

Caroline’s journey shows what can happen when practical skills are put into action:
Knowledge becomes confidence.
Confidence becomes quality products.
Products become a growing business.
And one empowered entrepreneur begins empowering others.

At SkillUp, mentorship does not end in the training room. We follow up, celebrate progress and continue walking with our mentees as they grow.

Are you a SkillUp alumnus or alumna?
Send us a photo of yourself and your business, together with a brief update on how you have applied the skills you gained. Let us celebrate your progress and share the inspiring business you are building!

Your story could inspire someone else to start. Hii economy lazima we win all of us 😩... Ama vipi guys?

Mnakula ice-cream na hii baridi 👀👀👀👀?

Looking back at our SkillUp ice cream and ice pop-making training, the goal was bigger than teaching a recipe. We wanted our mentees to understand how a simple product can become a sustainable source of income.

Ice cream and ice pops remain a practical business opportunity for many small entrepreneurs because they are affordable to start, easy to sell and enjoyed by both children and adults, especially on hot days, after school, at events and in busy neighborhoods.

So, is it a good business?
Yes, when you understand your market, control production costs, keep the quality consistently and sell where demand is highest.

You do not always need a large shop to begin. Sometimes, you start with the skills you have, the equipment you can afford and the customers within your reach.

Learn the skill. Start small. Keep improving. Turn every sale into growth.

Would you sell from a fixed location or make rounds to reach more customers?

Did you know the global cheese market was valued at approximately USD 215.5 billion, thats approximately 27,877,137,107,500.00 Kenyan Shillings in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 337.4 billion by 2033? 🧀

That growth represents a valuable opportunity for entrepreneurs who can transform milk into quality, market-ready cheese. With every restaurant tapping on fast foods like pizza, it's demand is bound to rise.

Through practical cheese-making training, SkillUp mentees learn the correct production process, food safety, quality control, packaging and how to turn the skill into a potential source of income.

The future of agribusiness is not only in producing raw materials. It is in adding value to them.

Learn the skill. Create the product. Turn knowledge into profit.

If you are a dairy farmer looking for an additional source of income, learning how to make cheese could be a gamechanger.

Instead of selling milk only in its raw form, you can add value, extend its market potential and create a product customers are willing to pay more for.

With the right cheese-making skills, your milk can become more than a daily harvest, it can become a growing business.

Would you consider turning cheese into a business opportunity, either by producing it or using it to create value-added food products?
