KUZA TRUST

KUZA TRUST That’s why our work is grounded in a community-first, rights-centered approach that combines:

1.

A not-for-profit organization that exist to challenge systemic injustice and promote equity, health, and human rights for marginalized communities across Kenya and the wider East African region. KUZA TRUST is a Kenya-based advocacy, organizing, and narrative change organisation founded in 2023 to challenge systemic injustice and promote equity, health, and human rights for marginalized communities

across Kenya and the wider East African region. We work at the intersection of drug law reform, gender and economic justice, and accountable governance, mobilizing communities to demand dignity, secure justice, and lead transformative change from the ground up. At KUZA TRUST, we believe that those most affected by oppression like the people who use drugs, widows, rural women, and people in informal settlements must not only be heard, but must lead. Policy advocacy driven by lived experience and strategic research
2. Public legal education and paralegal training to expand justice access
3. Innovative grassroots organizing through street theatre, forums, and storytelling
4. Direct engagement with systems, courts, health facilities, and duty bearers to reform laws and institutions
5. Litigation, civic education, and budget accountability campaigns that shift public narratives and redirect power

Just like our communities, we are both rooted and restless, building from below while confronting systems from above. Our Vision
A just and equitable society where all communities live free from discrimination, poverty, and violence, and are empowered to shape the laws, policies, and systems that protect their rights, land, and future. Our Mission
To catalyze social justice by empowering communities marginalized by poverty, discrimination, and punitive drug policies to secure health equity, claim their human rights, and reshape the laws and systems that govern their lives. We achieve this through community-rooted organizing, equitable policy reform, and rigorous accountability of public institutions.

Yesterday at Kibra Technical and Vocational College, KUZA TRUST planted a tree to symbolize a new partnership under our Resilience Program.

This collaboration is designed to expand opportunities for people with intersectional vulnerabilities and those affected by the war on drugs, enabling them to access skills, training, and pathways to employment.

By investing in resilience and inclusion, we are not just planting trees, we are cultivating equity, hope, and sustainable futures.
