It was a great honour for the Western Region and Busia Clinical Officers to come together today for a breakfast meeting held at Busia County Referral Hospital (BCRH), generously supported by Square Pharmaceuticals and graced by the KCOA National Organising Secretary.

The meeting provided members with a valuable opportunity to network, share experiences, enhance their professional knowledge, and receive important updates from the KCOA Branch and KUCO leadership on matters affecting the profession.

As part of the day's activities, we paid courtesy visits to the County Directors of Health, where we advocated for increased institutional support and the release of more Clinical Officers to attend the forthcoming KCOA Annual Scientific Conference (ASC) in October.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the branch leadership, led by the Chairperson, the County Clinical Officers, and the organizing team for their commitment and excellent coordination of this successful event.

Together, we continue to strengthen our profession through unity, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

God bless you all. πŸ™Œ

Last week, the KCOA leadership visited Marsabit and Isiolo counties to strengthen our profession and engage key stakeholders.

We are proud to have successfully operationalized the KCOA Marsabit Branch, marking a significant milestone in expanding member representation and engagement.

We also held productive meetings with county leadership, visited Isiolo County Referral Hospital, participated in a DKT CME on reproductive health, and engaged Fertility Point on future collaborations through webinars, CMEs, and our Annual Scientific Conference.

Thank you to all our members for your unwavering support and commitment. Together, we continue to strengthen the Clinical Officers' profession and improve healthcare delivery across Kenya.

πŸ“ KCOA MASHINANI – BUNGOMA BRANCH

The Kenya Clinical Officers Association (KCOA) National Office, represented by National Organizing Secretary William Masidza and Deputy Secretary General Chris Onditi, successfully conducted a Mashinani engagement in Bungoma County.

The delegation held productive meetings with the County Executive, County Health Management Team, Bungoma County Referral Hospital and MedSup teams, KMTC administration and students, Equity Bank, and Clinical Officers across the county.

Key areas of discussion included strengthening collaboration between KCOA and the County Government, membership empowerment and subscriptions, implementation of the Clinical Officers Career Progression Guidelines, follow-up on redesignation and promotions arising from the KUCO industrial action, welfare and motivation of Clinical Officers, student mentorship programmes, and support for members to attend the upcoming 28th KCOA Annual Scientific Conference at PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, Mombasa, from 26th–28th October 2026.

The engagements were fruitful and reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing the Clinical Officer profession, improving member welfare, and strengthening healthcare service delivery in Bungoma County.

KCOA appreciates the National Office for its continued support, the County Government for its commitment to implementing key resolutions, and all members for their unwavering support and dedication to the profession.

Stronger Together. Stronger KCOA.
