Since January, our free sewing and tailoring program has brought together a diverse group of learners, including deaf women and men, young mothers, and other community members eager to develop practical skills and create new opportunities for themselves.

Over the past months, students have been learning the fundamentals of sewing and tailoring, building confidence, creativity, and technical skills with every stitch.
We are deeply grateful to the for funding this program and to for generously providing the space where classes have been held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

As we enter the final weeks of training, we celebrate the dedication and progress of our students. Classes will continue through the last week of June, with graduation taking place on 27th June.
This journey has been about more than sewing, it has been about inclusion, empowerment, learning, and community.

Together, we are stitching skills into opportunities and dreams into reality.

Just like that we’ve started month 6 - and Couldn’t Be More Proud of this class.

5 months ago, many of our students had never touched a sewing machine. Today, they confidently operate one, create their own projects, and continue to grow in skill and creativity every week.

Our class is made up of incredible deaf students, young mothers, and passionate young people who have shown dedication, resilience, and a genuine eagerness to learn. Watching their confidence grow has been just as rewarding as seeing their sewing skills develop.

We are so proud of how far they have come and excited to see where this journey takes them next. 💙

As we are headed towards half the time in the program, we can definitely see the growth on what and how the participants are engaging in. During the third week we made an Introduction into making shirts and Guess what! by the third day shirts were made and worn 🎉🎉🎉

Interesting progress from our students , By the second week they are able to step on the machines and do skirts by themselves, we are enjoying the progress and growth so much.

We cant wait for the final project and partners who will onboard and come support and even absort the young Talents 😌

The journey has officially begun 🧵
For the past two days (Tuesday & Wednesday), our students have been learning the parts of a sewing machine and how to operate and control a manual sewing machine.
Mastering control is a crucial foundation in sewing, and we’re proud to say that most of our students have already made great progress 👏🏽

We’re excited to see how these skills continue to grow as we move into the next steps next week.
