What you’re seeing here is more than learning how to sew. It’s a moment of growth, of pushing through doubt, of choosing to try again even when it feels difficult.

From working together to standing on your own, every stitch carries effort, patience, and quiet determination. The challenges are real, but so are the breakthroughs the moment something finally makes sense, the moment confidence begins to show.

In this space, deaf and hearing-impaired individuals, young parents, and youth come together not just to learn, but to support each other, to grow, and to believe in what they can become.

As we are headed towards half the time in the program, we can definitely see the growth on what and how the participants are engaging in. During the third week we made an Introduction into making shirts and Guess what! by the third day shirts were made and worn 🎉🎉🎉

The journey has officially begun 🧵
For the past two days (Tuesday & Wednesday), our students have been learning the parts of a sewing machine and how to operate and control a manual sewing machine.
Mastering control is a crucial foundation in sewing, and we’re proud to say that most of our students have already made great progress 👏🏽

We’re excited to see how these skills continue to grow as we move into the next steps next week.

KFW 2024 COUNTDOWN IS ON. Kibera Fashion Week 2024 film screening & popup exhibition. We are bringing fashion, music, and magic to Olympic Bus Terminus in Kibera in partnership with and .

📆: Saturday, 16th November and Sunday, 17th November 2024
⏰: 11AM - 5PM.

Here is what is in store:

🎥Film screening of the KFW 2023 film; behind the scenes of the 10 months program to the runway showcase. The first screening time is 12.00pm - 1.30pm and the second screening time is at 3.00pm to 4.30pm on both days.

🫣Pop-up exhibition where you can meet the designers, get up close with last year’s collections and buy pieces from their stores. Runs throughout the day.

🎚️ & on deck with the music to keep the energy up all day long.

🎨Live art installation that you have witnessed at most KFW events, this time, you can literally take part in it.
