Ophthalmological Society of Eastern Africa (OSEA) From the early nineteen fifties, Nairobi ophthalmologists had formed the habit of meeting monthly for clinical meetings.

These gatherings were held, following a cup of tea, in various Nairobi consulting rooms or at the King George VI Hospital (now Kenyatt OSEA and its members sponsor an annual scientific meeting, publish the OSEA Journal of Ophthalmology, recognize young researchers, contribute to numerous professional seminars and provide a discussion forum for lively exchanges among its members.
