Somali Environmental Development Organization (SEDO) is pleased to announce that Executive Director, Dr. Ismail Abukar Osman, participated in the Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum in preparation for the 7th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7).

This high-level forum brought together representatives from NGOs, Children and Youth, Women, Farmers, Local Authorities, Indigenous Peoples and their communities, the Science and Technology community, as well as Workers and Trade Unions. Today, the Anticipatory Action Roadmap for Somalia was officially launched in Mogadishu, Somalia.
The event was inaugurated by Mohamud Moalim Abdulle, Chiarman SoDMA, and brought together a diverse group of national and international stakeholders committed to strengthening early warning and early action in Somalia.
The launch was attended by key UN agencies, including FAO, WFP, and others, as well as regional and international partners such as IGAD, IFRC, Danish Refugee Council, World Vision, Concern Worldwide, and several government ministries — including the Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, among others.
Local civil society and NGOs also played a significant role, with the Somali Environmental Development Organization (SEDO) proudly participating in this important milestone aimed at building a more resilient and anticipatory humanitarian system in Somalia.

The Somali Environmental Development Organization (SEDO) participated in the national consultative meeting held in Mogadishu, organized by the Somali Civil Society Organizations Network (SONSA).

The meeting focused on enhancing Somalia’s civil society participation in the East African Civil Society Forum (EACSOF) and strengthening the engagement of Somali civil society in the East African regional integration process.

Discussions also centered on aligning Somalia’s national priorities with the broader goals of the East African regional integration.
