Last week, Voice of Dagoretti CBO had the pleasure of hosting Justice Nest Organisation, a group dedicated to supporting women who have been arrested for petty crimes and restoring dignity and hope to these incredible caregivers.

The meeting focused on exploring areas of collaboration between our two organisations and identifying ways we can work together to better support women in Dagoretti Sub-County.

We look forward to building a strong partnership that uplifts, empowers, and creates lasting impact in our community.

Today, 10th April, Voice of Dagoretti CBO, in partnership with Umoja Foundation, conducted a community awareness session on sexual and reproductive health and menstrual hygiene with young women from Kawangware.

The conversation created a safe and open space, empowering girls with accurate and essential information. By addressing these topics openly, we are helping to build confidence and encouraging young women to seek help and ask questions without fear of judgment.

Last week, Voice of Dagoretti CBO was proudly represented during a public participation forum organized by the Nairobi County Assembly Finance Committee. Together with other community-based organizations from Dagoretti, we submitted a memorandum proposing an increase in mental health funding and the recruitment of more mental health staff in Nairobi County for the 2026/2027 financial year, as outlined in the Nairobi County ADP 2026/2027.

However, one major concern was the low turnout of community members in this critical process. This raises an important question—are residents fully aware of the importance of participating in such forums that directly shape our county’s priorities and services?
