The 2025 Ngulia ringing season has concluded with remarkable results! The dedicated team successfully ringed 8,018 birds across more than 100 species, including 7,288 Palearctic migrants and 730 Afrotropical species.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Two exciting additions to the Ngulia species list - African Golden Oriole and Violet Wood-Hoopoe, marking significant records for the site.

Beyond the nets, hundreds of birds were observed in visible migration overhead, showcasing Ngulia's strategic position along one of Africa's major flyways.

GRATITUDE:
This success would not have been possible without the incredible turnout of volunteers who travelled from near and far to be part of this annual event. Your dedication, expertise, and tireless efforts through long nights made every capture count. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's project!

Each bird ringed adds vital data to our understanding of migration patterns, stopover ecology, and conservation needs. Here's to another successful season at Ngulia Safari Lodge.

See you next year!
