Volunteer Action for Change Kenya We have learnt that helping discover potential is the most valuable gift that we can give. OUR GOALS
1. Improve the skills capacity of youth & women
2.

Founded in 2014 as a development organization, VACK has been guided by three basic principles: go where the need is greatest; support local initiatives by Kenyans in conceiving and implementing projects; and integrate activities across sectors. Volunteer Action for Change Kenya (VACK) is a development platform created by Kenyan Youths to enhance the process of sustainable service delivery at the l

ocal community level. VACK aims to inspire youth and women in particular to actively participate in the development process through skills development, empowerment and support for the implementation of local initiatives as a result we hope this will help in addressing the social inequalities that affect the lives of the target communities. Our services are realized through voluntary exchange, leadership development, development cooperation, intercultural exchange, community service, non-formal education, empowerment programs. Volunteering in Kenya is a unique blend of community service and cultural submergence as Kenya is a conglomerate of different culture, languages, traditions and people. VACK is a not for profit organization that provides services using the voluntarism approach that is aimed at enhancing the development process and service delivery of community development initiatives. Our activities are geared towards the promotion of peace, understanding, justice, development, and information exchange among Kenyans and within the international community. Develop & promote viable voluntary opportunities
3. Promote responsible attitudes among the youth
4. Mobilize resources for the development of community initiatives
5. Promote the delivery of sustainable services in local communities
6. To create a pool of social entrepreneurs readily willing to assist in addressing the local socioeconomic challenges. Vision: Volunteerism for uncompromising sustainable development

Strategic objective: To recognize young people and women as a valuable resource to society development, and upholding their rights to participate in the development of policies affecting them by means of a continuous structured dialogue with young people, women and youth organizations. MISSION
Improving and spearheading the safe and wellbeing of the communities we serve through volunteering interventions. Through this we hope to have a society in which the dignity of every person is safeguarded and promoted, in which each individual person may enjoy fundamental liberties, have access to resources and services, have the possibility to live in a healthy environment and improve the quality of life in all aspects; a global society in which every single individual and all communities have the right of self-determination consistent with the cultural rights of other peoples and every man and woman on earth.

AEWIA Transnational Meeting Held in Skopje, North Macedonia
Between 4th and 6th June 2026, the AEWIA Project successfully held its Transnational Project Meeting hosted by Association for Progress, Education and Lobbying NEL Skopje (PEL). The meeting brought together participants and partners from six countries, fostering collaboration, learning, and the exchange of experiences.

AEWIA (African-European Women in Intercultural Action) aims to promote and strengthen the role of young women in intercultural dialogue between Europe and Africa by enhancing and preserving intangible cultural heritage, with a particular focus on family, community, and economic development.

Throughout the meeting, participants engaged in insightful discussions and learning sessions on:
• The role of libraries in preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage.
• Leveraging technology for social impact and community development.
• Understanding and improving advocacy, strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strengthening partnerships and cooperation among project partners.

A significant achievement of the project has been the development of the E-Book: Women in Action for Heritage and Sustainable Development, which highlights the contributions of women in safeguarding cultural heritage and advancing sustainable development within their communities.

The meeting provided an important platform for partners to reflect on project progress, share best practices, and plan future activities aimed at empowering young women as agents of intercultural dialogue and social change across Europe and Africa.

Men's Mental Health Matters

At Volunteer Action for Change Kenya (VACK), we believe that strong communities are built by healthy individuals physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Many men face daily pressures from work, family responsibilities, finances, and societal expectations. Too often, they are expected to remain silent about their struggles. However, mental health challenges can affect anyone, and seeking support is a sign of courage and self-awareness.

💙 Let's encourage men to:
✔ Speak openly about their feelings and experiences.
✔ Build supportive friendships and social networks.
✔ Prioritize rest, exercise, and healthy lifestyles.
✔ Seek professional help when needed.
✔ Check in on friends, brothers, fathers, and colleagues.

A simple conversation can save a life. By creating safe spaces where men can speak without fear of judgment, we can help reduce stigma and promote mental well-being for all.

Together, let's foster a culture where mental health is valued, support is accessible, and no one suffers in silence.

We all have a responsibility to make our society a better place. Every action we take or fail to take plays a role in shaping the communities we live in. Positive change does not happen by chance; it happens when people come together with a shared vision and commitment to act.

At Volunteer Action for Change Kenya (VACK), we believe that collective action has the power to transform lives, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for future generations. By joining hands, sharing our skills, and dedicating our time to meaningful causes, we can address challenges, inspire hope, and create lasting impact.

Together, we can build stronger, more inclusive, and resilient communities. Together, we can create lasting change. Together, we can build a better tomorrow.

One of the strongest takeaways from the meeting was the diversity of realities across partner countries regarding the recognition of non-formal learning and youth skills. These exchanges reinforced the importance of creating accessible learning opportunities and innovative recognition systems that support young people worldwide.

Excited to share the successful kick-off meeting of the Youth360 project in Brussels, Belgium 🇧🇪 on 29 April 2026!

In the meeting, partners from Europe and Africa came together to strengthen collaboration, review progress, and plan the next steps of our journey towards empowering young people through non-formal education, digital credentials, and skills recognition.

During the meeting, we:
✅ Reviewed the progress of research activities across partner countries
✅ Discussed the development of learning pathways and the implementation of Cities of Learning platforms with Awero
✅ Shared national insights on non-formal learning, employability, Open Badges, and skills validation
✅ Prepared upcoming mobility and training activities
✅ Planned dissemination and community engagement activities to maximise the project’s impact
✅ Met with representatives from the European Commission and EACEA

One of the strongest takeaways from the meeting was the diversity of realities across partner countries regarding the recognition of non-formal learning and youth skills. These exchanges reinforced the importance of creating accessible learning opportunities and innovative recognition systems that support young people worldwide.

A huge thank you to our coordinator CODEC Belgium for hosting us and to all partners for their valuable contributions and commitment throughout these first months of the project 💙

🚀 YOUTH360 has officially kicked off!

We are proud to launch YOUTH360, a 2-year Capacity Building project coordinated by CODEC (Belgium), bringing together partners from Europe and sub-Saharan Africa to strengthen youth opportunities through cooperation, skills development, and shared learning.

What YOUTH360 is about:
YOUTH360 supports youth organisations and local ecosystems to build stronger pathways for young people—through capacity-building, peer learning, and hands-on international experiences. The project will also develop Cities/Regions of Learning and promote collaboration among local stakeholders.

Our goals
✅ Strengthen the capacity of youth organisations and youth workers
✅ Improve cooperation between youth stakeholders at local and international level
✅ Support young people’s participation, skills, and future opportunities
✅ Ensure the project results are visible, usable, and sustainable beyond the project’s lifetime
