"Empowering Health and Education in Mathare, Kenya"
🔵 Project: Mathare School of Health
The goal of this initiative is simple yet profound: Enhance the well-being of students in 3 public primary schools in the informal settlements. This comprehensive program is not just about health; it's about nurturing the physical, mental, social, spiritual, and educational growth of around 6,000 children and 60 teachers.
💧 Key Goals:
❇️ Water Access: Installing rainwater harvesting systems and additional water points.
❇️ Knowledge Boost: Educating on WASH, disease prevention, nutrition, safety, and more.
❇️ Community Involvement: Engaging parents and community in .
❇️ Sustainable Health Program: Establishing school health committees for ongoing support.
❇️ Behavioral Change: Focusing on life skills, gender issues, nutrition, and rights.
🛠️ Main Activities:
✴️ Renovating water systems and reservoirs.
✴️ Training teachers and hosting reflective meetings.
✴️ Implementing health action plans.
✴️ Conducting workshops and seminars for parents and children.
✴️ Organizing community health campaigns.
This project is an important step towards a healthier, more educated, and empowered community in Mathare.
