KenGen Foundation However, high impact corporate programs could not be effectively implemented due to limited financial resources and internal capacity.

The key objective of the Foundation is to implement the focused and strategic expansion of KenGen’s Corporate Social Investment activities, and to mobilize complementary resources to facilitate implementation of more sustainable projects. Over the years, KenGen has been involved in Corporate Social Responsibility activities, specifically targeting communities living in areas neighboring the company’s installations. This corporate effort has been driven by KenGen’s belief in adding value to the livelihoods of targeted communities through building and sustaining relationships with them. It is to address this challenge that the company established a Foundation in 2012 to serve as the vehicle for up-scaling its corporate social investment (CSI) programs. KenGen Foundation began its operations in December 2012 following its registration in March 2012. It is run by a Managing Trustee and governed by a Board of Trustees. Objectives of the Foundation
The key objectives of the Foundation are:

Maintaining KenGen’s existing Corporate Social Investment (CSI) projects and enabling their up-scaling for ensured long-term impact and sustainability
Developing and nurturing strategic partnerships that add value to the Foundation’s projects and work. Vision: Making a difference by enabling communities improve their livelihoods. Our Pillars: These are Education, Environment, Water and Sanitation.

Partnerships that grow impact.

KenGen Foundation is grateful to Co-op Bank Kenya for the generous KSh 1 million donation towards our environmental initiatives.

This support will help advance our work in tree growing, ecosystem restoration and environmental conservation, while strengthening community participation in protecting and restoring our natural ecosystems.

One employee gives. Another gives. Then another.

Soon, individual acts of generosity become something much bigger.

That is the idea behind the KenGen Foundation's Employee Giver Initiative—and it came alive at Seven Forks Primary School when KenGen Kenya Givers donated 10 desktop computers.

For today's learner, digital access is increasingly part of the classroom experience. Kenya's education reforms emphasise digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving, while STEM offers pathways into the skills needed for tomorrow's economy.

The greatest impact of giving isn't always visible in the moment.

Sometimes it is a child discovering a new skill.

A teacher finding a new way to teach.

A learner discovering a passion for technology.

And a community gaining confidence in its children's future.

When Givers come together, generosity becomes opportunity.

What can 10 computers change?

Ask a learner at Seven Forks Primary School.

KenGen Kenya Givers from Eastern Hydros donated 10 desktop computers to the school—turning a contribution from employees into a new gateway to digital learning.

Kenya's CBE system is designed to nurture competencies such as digital literacy, creativity and critical thinking.

STEM, meanwhile, is preparing learners for a world where science, technology, engineering and mathematics increasingly shape careers and economies.

The computers are therefore more than equipment.

They are tools for discovery.

Tools for learning.

Tools for imagination.

And perhaps, one day, tools that help a child become Kenya's next engineer, scientist, programmer or innovator.

That is what happens when Givers come together.

10 computers. One school. Hundreds of possibilities.

When KenGen Kenya Givers from Eastern Hydros came together, their collective generosity delivered 10 desktop computers to Seven Forks Primary School.

In Kenya's Competency-Based Education system, learners are expected to develop more than academic knowledge. Digital literacy, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving are essential competencies for a future shaped by technology.

And as STEM continues to shape the country's future workforce, access to technology matters.

For a learner at Seven Forks, a computer can become a gateway to coding, research, digital creativity, science and discovery.

This is the power of Givers: small individual contributions becoming collective opportunities.
