And when it’s all been said and done..remember we only have one earth..we hold nature’s future. We have the responsibility to scale up climate solutions, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable practices..we owe Mother Nature. May we be “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”

Nearly 70 gender-based violence cases reported every week across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu according to the Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya.
More than 10,500 child protection cases were recorded between January 2025 and March 2026, including 1,952 abductions and 6,820 cases of abandonment, according to data released by Children Services Principal Secretary Carren Ageng’o. Nearly 2,328 children are unaccounted for.
These are not just numbers, this is a reality. These are lives. We chose a sit down..our way of saying enough is enough..this has to stop. Our lives matter, childrens lives matter. We are not seeing the perpetrators being punished. We need action NOW…Femicide needs to be declared a national disaster.
We shall not stay silent. We shall be heard, we shall continue to say the names of the victims until justice prevails.
To everyone that showed up for the march yesterday ..we honor you..we shall not tire!…to everyone that continues to speak up against femicide and pedicide..your voice is revolutionary..
To the men who understand that this is not a war of the sexes but a fight to ensure we are all safe..we see you..CC our partnership director a great HE FOR SHE Champion…we acknowledge your efforts.
We refuse to normalize femicide.

We cannot do it alone.. period poverty management needs a multi-sectoral approach. From NGO’s to the government and the general public. From sensitization on challenges around period challenges mitigation to policies around menstrual health, we need to work together. Every woman and girl has a right to a dignified period. A lot still needs to be done to de-stigmatize menstruation, from harmful cultural practices and beliefs to proper sanitation facilities and access to sanitary towels as a whole and the effects on the quality of education girls are receiving based on menstrual challenges. We are not yet there, but on this day..let us highlight and celebrate the efforts we have made and are making towards a period friendly world. We honor all the menstrual champions globally who are not only speaking up against menstrual challenges, but are also going out of their ways to ensure women and girls have access to sanitary products. We also honor the men who have taken up the batton and don’t see this as a women only issue and are stepping up as ambassadors of change to speak up on menstrual matters..we see you and we honor you…Together let us all create a period friendly world.

On today’s we take time to honor those who have supported us and helped us grow to where we are now. We choose to celebrate .esaro for all the support they have shown us as an organization since we started. From all the opportunities they engage our volunteers in to all the networking engagements they engage us in. These opportunities have over the years opened doors for our volunteers and we do not take it for granted. They have played a great part in amplifying and recognizing volunteer efforts not just in Enkare as an organization since, but in Kenya as a whole. We are inspired to keep impacting..now and always.

It is Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Week… We need to have some candid conversations around menstrual health management amongst school going adolescent girls.
Are we doing enough to normalize menstruation? Is the situation getting better or worse? Are policies around menstrual health management working? Is a period friendly world a reality that we shall experience or we are building our hopes up too high?
Join us tomorrow for our Tubonge Tuesday X spaces conversation as we get to unpack the reality of menstruation amongst girls in schools in Kenya. The actual experiences of teachers and the measures they belief can help transform the educational experiences of girls in schools. You do not want to miss this.

It’s Wednesday and you know how we are doing it this year, celebrating our volunteers to the maximum!
Today, we have our own education department head Sally Naisola .sooo she has been at the forefront of our education programs outside Nairobi. She is the person behind our 4 year long partnership with Esonorua primary school in Magadi. Through this partnership, for the past 4 years, we always ensure the students transitioning into high school have exam materials and a new pair of shoes to step into the new school year with. Through our partners support we have managed to impact the school through improved infrastructure and education resources. The school is in the interior of Magadi area and hardly accesses public resources. Naisola not only mapped out the school for this long term engagement, but has also been at the forefront of the logistical planning and implementation of every single project we have implemented in the school. Today, we give Naisola her flowers. Celebrating her impact then, now and in the days to come.

We are proud to celebrate Jael Wainaina, one of our outstanding volunteers, for emerging as a Winner of the Stars of Innovation: U.S.–Kenya AI Challenge, hosted by the U.S. Embassy Kenya 🇺🇸🇰🇪

The competition brought together 70 innovators to build AI powered solutions using American AI tools to solve real-world challenges. Working in a team of five, Jael’s team developed an AI powered prototype maternal health solution known Medibora, an AI-powered platform that enables continuous monitoring, early risk alerts, and real-time communication between expectant mothers and healthcare providers. Jael Wainaina, .j.a.e.l_ is a data science student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), she explained that the prototype wearable device monitors a woman’s vital signs and transmits the data to a dashboard, enabling clinicians to respond quickly in emergencies.
The device also uses GPS tracking, enabling emergency response teams to locate mothers quickly.
“Other features on the application include a multilingual voice agent in English or Swahili, allowing mothers to ask questions about pregnancy and get the help they need. Jael believes in the importance of data in creating solutions that address real problems, with many mothers dying from preventable conditions. information and data can create solutions that can be used by everyone.
In this International Year of Volunteers, we celebrate and amplify the achievements of our volunteers. This is a win worth shouting about, and we intend to offer all our support to bring this prototype to life.
