Join us as we donate clothes to unite Kenyans, promote WASH, Economic empowerment among young mothers, and youth "Yourclothes" initiative targets the vulnerable children, widows, single mothers and the old within the slums with clothing as a key pillar of the basic human needs. Social media is our platform to mobilize clothing from all well wishers and these are distributed to these target groups
in the Slums. The initiative is run by a group of transformed slum youth who out of past hard life experience have seen the need to give back to the community in this humble way
A preview of slum dwelling in Kenya shows: Household size of averagely 6 children, surviving on less than 1 USD a day, high crime rate, inadequate food, shelter, clothing, education and health facilities. These coupled with a number of social challenges. This has informed the need of these youth to mobilize well wishers towards this noble calling. We had a very tough experience as we were growing, depending on one clothe form a well wisher which was a uniform, home clothe and Sunday best. This came with frequent skin infections owing to the fact that we could not have it washed due to lack of options to choose from. Tattered clothing is a common phenomenon in such environments
A one year old initiative currently dubbed "Mng'aro Mtaani"(Shinning in the Slums) is calling upon all those with the desire to put a smile on a face and help a fellow transform the wardrobe to donate and partake of this call
