It is a semi-cosmopolitan rural farming constituency, covering former white settler region in the Rift Valley and Nyanza Provinces, namely Songhor, Miwani, Kibos, Chemelil, Koru and Fort-Tennan along the Nakuru -Kisumu railway line. The inhabitants of this agriculturally rich constituency are a mixture of people from different ethnic groups, though the Luo are arguably the majority. The constituency is approximated to house 10,000 young people majority of whom are unemployed, high school and college dropouts living in abject poverty with a daily income of a $1 or less. While the region's fertile land promotes large scale sugarcane and rice production, the people's standards of living in undesirable and pathetic. It is believed that youths challenges and the deteriorating living conditions of the people of this region is caused by socio-economic and political factors. Insecurity due to cattle rustling is another core challenge to the people of Muhoroni. The recent ethnic clash between the Luos and Nandis(Kalenjins) at Kibigori-Chemase border was reported to have claimed 3 innocent lives. Muhoroni Youth Agenda seeks to defend the interest of the youths in the constituency.
