Attending the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Mombasa Show is an invaluable investment for farmers, offering a unique convergence of knowledge, technology, and market opportunities tailored to the coastal region's unique agricultural landscape. It provides a vital platform to engage with industry experts, researchers, and suppliers, gaining firsthand exposure to the latest innovations in farming techniques, climate-resilient crop varieties, and modern mechanization. Beyond general learning, the show is a crucial networking hub where a visit to the Caritas Mombasa stand, for example, offers a unique opportunity to connect with community-focused programs on sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate change adaptation. This allows farmers to tap into crucial support systems while also connecting with financial institutions for credit access and meeting potential large-scale buyers for their produce. By observing best practices in livestock rearing, aquaculture, and value addition, farmers can acquire the practical skills and connections needed to enhance their productivity, increase their profitability, and build more sustainable and resilient farming enterprises.

In a remarkable display of innovation and thematic interpretation, Caritas Mombasa proudly participated in the 2025 Mombasa International Show, culminating in the prestigious accolade for the "Best Non-Agro Based Interpreter of the Theme." Held from September 3rd to September 7th at the Mkomani Showground, this year's event, themed “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” brought together a diverse array of exhibitors from across the nation. Our stand creatively showcased how non-agricultural sectors can significantly contribute to a sustainable economic future by integrating climate-smart strategies and fostering synergistic trade relationships. Through interactive displays and engaging presentations, we demonstrated our commitment to the national agenda of sustainable development, earning recognition for our unique and impactful interpretation of the show's critical theme. This award is a testament to our team's dedication to innovation and our unwavering support for a resilient and prosperous Kenyan economy.

Across Kenya, a transformative agricultural movement is taking root. Farmers are increasingly turning to regenerative agriculture, a holistic approach that not only produces healthy food but also revitalizes the land and builds resilience against climate change. A burgeoning network of organizations, training centers, and community-led initiatives is empowering Kenyan farmers with the knowledge and skills to embrace these sustainable practices.

Caritas Mombasa has provided training opportunities to farmers in Kwale, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Taita-Taveta every four Months in 2025. The last training was conducted from 4-7 August at the Kwale Minor Seminary Demonstration Farm.

Floods are catastrophic. They destroy farmers' wealth. Lungalunga farmers can vividly remember the effects of floods. In order for their principal livelihood source to be sustainable, it must be diversified. And Caritas Mombasa has enhanced its small-scale livestock rearing through the distribution of Galla goats and improved chickens.

Water is a necessity and in any settlement without it life is unbearable. Residents of Gozani-Kinango depend on Earth Dam as their sole source of water. These dams' contents are shared amongst humans and wild and domestic animals.

Caritas Mombasa in partnership with Cross catholic outreach will establish a solar-powered borehole in Gozani that will provide the people with clean water.
