COAST YOUTH SUMMIT 2026 - POSTPONEMENT NOTICE

We wish to inform all participants, partners and stakeholders that the Coast Youth Summit 2026, initially scheduled for 28th August 2026, has been postponed to a later date.

This is to allow for confirmation of an appropriate date for H.E William Samoei Ruto the President of the Republic of Kenya, who is expected to grace the Summit as Choef Guest.

All registrations remain valid. The new daye will be communicated once officially confirmed.

Hon. Mupa Chimera, Youth MCA for Kongowea Ward, held a mentorship session with children and young people at SOS Children’s Villages Mombasa in Kongowea.

The session provided an opportunity to engage with the young people, share experiences, encourage them to believe in their potential, and highlight the importance of education, discipline, leadership, and resilience in shaping their future.

Through such engagements, JVP continues to promote meaningful mentorship and community-based leadership, creating spaces where young people can learn, grow, and be inspired to make a positive impact in their communities.

Coast Youth Summit Preparations

Jumuiya ya Vijana wa Pwani (JVP) leadership continues to strengthen coordination and collaboration ahead of the upcoming Coast Youth Summit.

Led by the JVP Regional President, Hon. David Msongori, the delegation, including the Youth Governor Mombasa, the Deputy Speaker of the JVP Assembly and MP Matuga, Youth MPs, and the Youth MCA Ukunda Ward, was hosted by the Youth Governor Kwale, Hon. Zubeda.

The engagement focused on preparations for the Coast Youth Summit, bringing together young leaders from across the Coast Region to deliberate on youth empowerment, opportunities, leadership, innovation, and the future of young people.

The Coast Youth Summit is more than a gathering it is a platform to amplify the voices of young people and transform their ideas into meaningful action.

The JVP Regional President, Hon. David Msongori, led an engagement with leaders from various institutions as part of preparations for the upcoming Coast Youth Summit.

The President was accompanied by the Youth Governor of Kilifi County, Hon. Macgowan Sebastian Mungah, who supported the engagement, alongside JVP Director of Economic Empowerment and Youth MP for Mwatate Constituency, Hon. Alfan Abubakar, and the Youth MCA for Mwatate Ward.

The discussions focused on strengthening youth participation, economic empowerment and leadership, while laying the groundwork for a Coast Youth Summit that responds to the aspirations and challenges facing young people across the region.

JVP continues to mobilise and unite young people across the Coast around shared opportunities, stronger representation and meaningful solutions.
