The Youth Governor of Kilifi County, Hon. Macgowan Sebastian Mungah, alongside Youth MP for Rabai Constituency Hon. Denis Chiruu, joined the Kilifi County CECM for Agriculture and other stakeholders during the FIPS Africa Stakeholders' Training on Youth Empowerment through Agribusiness.

The meeting highlighted FIPS Africa's impactful work in equipping young people with agribusiness skills and explored partnerships to expand opportunities for youth across Kilifi.

Said Abdalla, the Youth Member of Parliament for Changamwe, together with Mahfudh, the Youth MCA for Changamwe, joined local youth in an environmental conservation initiative focused on proper e-waste management. The exercise aimed to create awareness on the importance of safe disposal and recycling of electronic waste while encouraging residents to protect the environment from harmful pollutants.
During the drive, the team collected a wide range of damaged electronic items, including spoiled phone batteries, broken remote controls, televisions, mobile phones beyond repair, chargers, and other unusable electrical materials for recycling. The initiative emphasized that electronic waste should never be discarded carelessly, as it contains hazardous substances that can contaminate the environment and pose serious health risks.
The leaders commended the youth for turning up in large numbers and demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship. They encouraged the community to embrace responsible e-waste disposal practices and continue supporting recycling initiatives that promote cleaner neighborhoods, public health, and sustainable development.

YOUTH BARAZA BRINGS UNITY AND A NEW DIRECTION FOR THE YOUTH OF CHEWANI WARD

A Youth Baraza was held in Kumbi Village, Chewani Ward, bringing together young people from different parts of the ward to discuss issues affecting them, exchange ideas, and explore practical solutions to the challenges they face.

The forum was organized under the leadership of JVP in collaboration with Youth Ambassador Salim Kalime, bringing together youth leaders, development stakeholders, and community leaders. Among the leaders who addressed the gathering were Hon. Rehema Hassan and Advocate Hajila, who emphasized the importance of unity, good leadership, education, peace, and active youth participation in community development.

During the discussions, participants openly shared the challenges facing young people, including unemployment, limited economic opportunities, access to education, and their involvement in decision-making processes. The speakers encouraged the youth to embrace their talents, pursue self-employment opportunities, and work together to drive sustainable development within Chewani Ward.

CHANGAMWE YOUTH HOLD PEACE WALK TO DEMAND JOBS AND DEVELOPMENT

Changamwe Youth MP Said Abdalla, together with Mahfudh and ward leaders Ali Mwidadi (Kipevu Ward MCA), Kioko (Chaani Ward MCA), Fahad (Port Reitz Ward MCA), and Ali (Changamwe Ward), organized a peaceful walk that brought together young people from across the constituency.

Earlier today, Abdulkadir Hussein (Magical Abdih), Youth MCA for Bangale Ward, joined Hon. Fardosa Salat in a sanitary pads distribution and mentorship programme at Mororo, Adele, and Boji Primary Schools in Bura Constituency, Tana River County.

The initiative focused on promoting menstrual hygiene awareness, mentoring young girls, and inspiring students to become responsible future leaders.

The Youth Governor for Kilifi County, MacGowan Sebastian, today represented the voices of young people during a public participation forum on the proposed Luxury Beach Apartments project at Kilifi Plantation.
The engagement brought together officials from the County Government Department of Physical Planning, the Sub-County Ward Administrator, representatives from Neema Consultancy led by Aila June, the project manager, and members of the Kilifi Plantation community to deliberate on the proposed investment.
During the forum, the Youth Governor strongly advocated for the prioritization of employment and business opportunities for the youth of Kilifi County. He emphasized that major investments should not only enhance tourism and economic growth but also create sustainable livelihoods and empower local young people through meaningful participation in the project's value chain.
