Engaging Men is not optional — it’s essential. Including men in GBV prevention and response is a game-changer. When men are involved in the dialogue, they become allies, champions, and active partners in transforming harmful norms, supporting survivors, and building safer, healthier communities for all. True progress is achieved when everyone sits at the table — women, men, boys, and girls — each taking responsibility for creating a society free from violence.

This year, during the 16 Days of Activism in Mombasa, Kenya, we took a bold and inclusive step by opening the space to Men and Boys. On 8th December, AWAPSA, alongside key stakeholders, the Nyali Administration including the DCC, the Gender Department, CSOs, tuktuk operators, boda boda riders, community leaders, and community members, came together to openly discuss the often-overlooked issues affecting men and highlight their crucial role in ending GBV.

Proudly Kicks Off the 16 Days of Activism 2025 in Mombasa!

We’ve strongly started!

joined partners and community members in launching the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in Mombasa through a vibrant procession from Pembe Za Ndovu to Tononoka Social Hall.
The march brought together the County Government of Mombasa, the State Department of Gender, the Gender Sector Working Group, the Judiciary of Kenya, the County Commissioner’s Office, the National Government and security officers, the Kenya Red Cross Society, civil society organizations, and committed residents—all united in solidarity and purpose.

This year’s global theme, “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls,” set a powerful and timely tone for the launch. A significant highlight was the collective commitment by both non-state actors and government representatives to scale up advocacy, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and increase awareness on digital safety and the prevention of tech-enabled GBV across the county.

As AWAPSA, we remain unwavering in our mission to amplify women’s voices, protect their rights, and champion safer digital and physical spaces for all women and girls.

We stand firm. We speak out. We UNITE.

✨ Unite to End Digital Violence ✨
|

Digital spaces should be safe for every woman and girl — yet online harassment, intimidation, exploitation, and other forms of abuse continue to rise. Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence ( ) is real, harmful, and deeply violating.

As we observe the 16 Days of Activism 2025, we call on everyone to join hands in creating secure, inclusive, and respectful online environments.

Let’s strengthen digital safety, improve reporting and accountability, amplify survivor voices, and work together to stop online abuse before it starts.

When we unite, we can end digital violence — for good. 💛✨

💜 She Builds Peace Campaign – 5 Years of Impact! 🌿

As we celebrate 5 years of the She Builds Peace Campaign, AWAPSA proudly convened a Stakeholder Engagement Forum in Kilifi County (28th October 2025) under the theme:
✨ “Protecting and Recognizing Women Peacebuilders.”

The forum brought together women peacebuilders, survivors of GBV and femicide, community members, local authorities, CSOs, religious and cultural leaders, youth groups, and male champions — all united in advancing safety, dignity, and recognition for women leading peace efforts.

Together, we continue to raise our voices against femicide, GBV, and human rights violations, while strengthening protection mechanisms and support systems for women peacebuilders across Kenya. 🕊️💪🏽

🌍✨ Peace is not the absence of war—it is the presence of justice, equality, and hope.

Today, as wars rage across the world, women and girls continue to bear the heaviest burdens. They are displaced, silenced, and too often left to rebuild shattered lives and communities.

Yet, it is these same women and girls who rise as peacebuilders, healers, and leaders—transforming pain into power, and division into dialogue.

On this International Day of Peace 2025, we reaffirm:
🕊️ Every voice matters.
🕊️ Every woman’s leadership counts.
🕊️ Every community can choose peace over violence.

Let us stand together to transform voices into action, build trust where fear thrives, and create communities where peace is lived, not just imagined.

💙 Because when women lead, peace lasts.
