001 Digital Network of Mentors organization team was privilege to attend a Two sensitization sessions led by the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA). The sessions aligned with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendation 8 and the 2025 Procedural Safeguards, which focus on safeguarding Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) from terrorist financing risks.
Objective of the sensitization was: -
Enhance understanding of terrorist financing risks affecting NPOs
• Educating organizations on regulatory compliance requirements
• Share best practices for risk mitigation and accountability
• Strengthen the capacity of NPOs to operate transparently and responsibly
Outcome of the sensitization
• Improved awareness of financial risks and compliance obligations
• Strengthened internal controls and governance within NPOs
• Enhanced ability to identify and mitigate terrorist financing risks
• Increased collaboration between PBORA and local organizations
