001 Digital Network of Mentors organization team was privilege to attend a Two sensitization sessions led by the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA). The sessions aligned with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendation 8 and the 2025 Procedural Safeguards, which focus on safeguarding Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) from terrorist financing risks.

Objective of the sensitization was: -

Enhance understanding of terrorist financing risks affecting NPOs
• Educating organizations on regulatory compliance requirements
• Share best practices for risk mitigation and accountability
• Strengthen the capacity of NPOs to operate transparently and responsibly
Outcome of the sensitization
• Improved awareness of financial risks and compliance obligations
• Strengthened internal controls and governance within NPOs
• Enhanced ability to identify and mitigate terrorist financing risks
• Increased collaboration between PBORA and local organizations

Changamwe Mazingira Community based organization is a consortium of 15 groups that are in waste managment and Climate Change.
In Collaboration and Partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature and the Consortium come together to strengthen our relationship.

Extended producer responsibility is also a concern that Consortium should embrace to be able to do their work.

JUHUDI, in partnership with IRI, convened a high-level multi-stakeholder consultative meeting bringing together Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), County Government representatives, legal practitioners, and a representative from the Senate Office 001 Digital Network of Mentors Organization was among the organisation that took place in this Vital engagement.

The meeting focused on developing policy recommendations aimed at safeguarding the sovereignty, rights, and economic interests of the local communities of Mombasa County, particularly in the context of foreign investor-led projects and national government initiatives.

Key Areas of Discussion

1. Protection of Local Sovereignty
Participants deliberated on concerns surrounding foreign-funded projects within Mombasa County, including:

✓Adequate public participation and community consultation
✓-Protection of land rights and prevention of displacement
✓Environmental sustainability
✓Transparency and accountability in project agreements
✓Ensuring meaningful local employment and economic inclusion

✓Stakeholders emphasized the need for strong county-level policy frameworks to regulate foreign investments while prioritizing community interests.

2. Local Benefits from National Government Projects

The meeting further explored strategies to ensure that national government projects implemented within the county deliver tangible benefits to local residents. Proposed measures included:

✓Prioritization of local employment and skills transfer
✓Support for local businesses through procurement opportunities
✓Strengthened coordination between national and county governments
✓Transparent implementation and monitoring mechanisms.

Advocacy and Policy Action .

To enhance accountability and community empowerment, the meeting resolved to:

✓Promote structured public participation processes
Develop policy briefs and memoranda for submission to relevant authorities
✓Strengthen legal oversight on investment contracts
✓Facilitate community awareness forums on rights and development policies
Build strong coalitions among CSOs for unified advocacy

To attain the Sustainable Blue Economy in Kenya ,Tanzania and Mozambique in Waste management more so targeting Women in green sector.

Employment promotion for Women for green transformation in Africa a project that seeks to address the Agenda and it's actualization.
To Achieve the above objective the projects seeks to work with grassroots groups that are in to circular Economy .

001 Digital Network of Mentors Organization in collaboration with Blue Earth Organization towards contributing towards national tree planting target of 15 Billion trees by 20230 ,that aim increase national tree cover by 30% to combat deforestation ,restore degraded land and mitigate climate change involving the communities .
The Collaboration and partnership of the organization with Mkupe community along Porttriez Creek in Changamwe sub county managed to plant 2500 Mangrove trees at the adopted site.
The approach of mentorship for young people of age 10-17 year to be environmental champion project the sustainability and building resilient that they have a role in mitigating the effect of climate change.
it is clear that women also plays an important role in combating climate change through Mangrove planting in the community hence improving Biodiversity.
Aim of the initiative
1.To contribute towards 15 billions trees targets by 2032
2.To increase the forest cover of the ecosystem
3.Restoration of the Degraded landscape

Waste management sector remain to be a very important sector that plays an important role in our environment.

Capacity building youth and women who are in waste management sector with different knowledge and skills remains to be important aspect which enhances livelihood and sustainability for them.

001 Digital Network of Mentors organization continue to empower Cohort 1 of waste managers from different waste management groups across all five wards in Changamwe Sub County under the project termed as ENVIROPRENEUR PROJECT.

in collaboration with Old Mutual Kenya(A financial institution) the waste managers were taught on various investment plan that they were not aware about them despite on the various business inline with waste management termed as circular economy.

following the feedback from the participant the training was a paradigm shift in their economic growth that will later improve their livelihood and enhances sustainability.Most them are being neglected and not valued,however through the training it was their eye opener that enhances their self esteem and confidence towards their job

It was noted that the training come in timely more to youths who have been spending their money on fancy things like Drugs and Fashion.
