Mombasa Youth Council President, Antigoals Ray Mce, represented the Council at the Stakeholder Validation and Advocacy Forum on the proposed Mombasa County Vocational Training Bill, held at CityBlue Creekside Hotel, Nyali.

The forum brought together key stakeholders, including Waziri Abuyaasir Mbwarali Kame, CECM for Education and Vocational Training, CPA Gloria Mwasi, County Chief Officer for Education and Vocational Training, and other stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening vocational training, skills development and opportunities for young people across Mombasa County.

The Mombasa Youth Council remains committed to ensuring that the voices and aspirations of young people are reflected in policies that shape their future.

We commend all stakeholders for creating space for meaningful youth participation in policy development and advocacy.

Strong policies create stronger opportunities. The future of Mombasa’s youth must be built into the decisions we make today.

The President of the Mombasa Youth Council yesterday represented the during a courtesy call to the Office of the Governor of Vihiga County alongside a delegation from the Kilifi Youth Council.

The meeting, which included engagements with county directors and the CECM for Education and Vocational Training, provided an opportunity to share the impact of youth councils and explore areas of collaboration. We are encouraged that Vihiga County is considering establishing a Youth Council, and we look forward to joint programmes between Mombasa, Kilifi and Vihiga counties.

We appreciate National Youth Director Rev. Joseph Waithaka for making this engagement possible.

Mombasa Youth Council is proud to be represented at the ongoing National Youth Camp at Nyang’ori Mission Headquarters, Vihiga County, organized by the National Youth Department, P.A.G. Kenya, under the inspiring theme "Restored for Purpose.”

Our President, Antigoals Ray Mce, had the honour of addressing over 5,000 young people, sharing the vision, mission, and impact of the Mombasa Youth Council while engaging and networking with youth leaders from across Kenya.

The also held fruitful engagements with a delegation from the Kilifi youth council, led by President Felix Jr Balozi, strengthening inter-county collaboration and partnerships aimed at advancing youth leadership and empowerment.

As the camp continues, we look forward to engaging with PS Fikirini Jacobs and other distinguished leaders as we collectively inspire, mentor, and equip the next generation of changemakers.

Together, we remain committed to building a united, empowered, and purpose-driven generation.

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS TO THE DOORS OF GREATNESS. 🇹🇿🌍✨

May this kind of favour locate us.. 🙏🏽

Some journeys remind us that your beginning is not your destiny.

’s story is one of resilience, vision and extraordinary transformation. A young African who came from humble beginnings, experienced the weight of hardship, and chose not to allow his circumstances to define the limits of his dreams.

Through determination, education, technology and an unwavering belief in creating opportunities for others, he built SomaApp, a platform focused on connecting African students with scholarship opportunities beyond the borders of their countries.

His journey earned him international recognition, including the Queen’s Young Leaders Award, recognition as an Ashoka Fellow, and a place among Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30.

But perhaps the most powerful lesson in his story is not the awards, the recognition, or the success.

It is the journey.

From struggling through humble beginnings to building solutions that touch thousands of lives. From being a young African with a dream to becoming a celebrated entrepreneur. From starting with very little to now standing at the doors of one of the continent’s most prominent families.

Today, as he prepares to become part of the family of President William Ruto through his relationship with Charlene Ruto, his journey offers a powerful message to every young person watching:

Never despise your beginning.

The child growing up with limited opportunities could become tomorrow's entrepreneur.

The young person whose ideas are ignored today could become tomorrow's innovator.

The one struggling to find their place today could one day find themselves in rooms they never imagined entering.

And the young person who feels forgotten today may one day become the very person whose story inspires millions.

At the Mombasa Youth Council, we believe that Africa's greatest resource is its young people—and that every young person deserves the opportunity to turn potential into purpose, ideas into impact, and dreams into reality.

So today, our prayer is simple:

May favour locate our children. 🙏🏽
May opportunities find them.
May their gifts make room for them.
May their dreams survive their circumstances.
May they rise beyond every limitation.
And may their journeys take them to places greater than they ever imagined.

Because sometimes, the greatest chapter of a person's life begins in a place nobody expected.

From humble beginnings to extraordinary heights.

Led by the Speaker of the Mombasa Youth Council Assembly, Ali Kubo, the Mombasa Youth Council Parliamentary Group Luncheon brought together 45 elected and nominated Youth MCAs representing all wards across Mombasa County.

The engagement provided a valuable platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic discussions on strengthening youth leadership, enhancing the work of the Assembly, and advancing initiatives that respond to the needs and aspirations of young people across the county.

The Mombasa Youth Council commends the Office of the Speaker, all Youth MCAs, and stakeholders for their commitment to building a united, accountable, and impactful youth leadership structure.

Together, we remain committed to promoting meaningful youth participation and empowering the next generation of leaders.
