What we often dismiss as “just jokes,” “online drama,” “banter,” or “content” can actually be tech-facilitated violence.

From trolling, threats, and leaked screenshots to outing, sexual harassment, cyberstalking, and coordinated bullying, online violence continues to silence and harm women, q***r people, activists, and marginalized communities every day.

Digital spaces should not cost people their dignity, safety, mental health, or freedom, and it’s time we stop normalizing abuse simply because it happens behind a screen.

Some of you are not “unmotivated.”

You are exhausted. Deeply. Systemically. Spiritually.

The kind of tired that sleep alone cannot fix.

When you are constantly fighting to exist, to be safe, to be heard… your body keeps score.

So if today all you did was rest, disconnect, or just exist softly - that is enough.

Rest is not weakness.

Rest is how we stay alive in a world that keeps demanding more from us.

There is always something to say when women speak about violence.

Something to question, to doubt, to excuse.
But notice how the conversation is never about the person who caused the harm.

We will keep saying it, until it is uncomfortable, until it is undeniable:

Violence is a choice. And the blame belongs where it started.

In a world that keeps trying to exclude us, we keep choosing each other.

Last Saturday, 20 q***r Muslims and allies gathered for Eid prayers and lunch.

No explanations. No apologies. Just community.

To everyone who supported this, financially, materially, and with love ; we called, and you responded.

This is what building our own tables looks like.

Asante sana🙏

Eid came and went… but community didn’t. 🌙

For many of us, Eid can feel quiet, complicated or even lonely.

So this Saturday, we’re creating our own table, one where q***r Muslims are seen, safe and celebrated.

Come eat, connect, and just be.

Tag someone who should be here!

See you on Saturday. You can still support us by Mpesa 0.7.0.6.2.0.0.2.3.8

Feminist movements are often spoken about as if they are unified, flawless and beyond critique.

But movements are made of people.

And people carry power, contradictions and blind spots.

In Kenya, feminist organizing lives in many forms: legal advocacy, grassroots mobilization, digital activism, survivor support and community care.

It is carried by organizers who are often under-resourced, sometimes exhausted and still refusing to give up.

But honesty is also part of the work.

Honesty about who gets heard.

Who gets funded.

Who gets visibility.

And who is still struggling to find space within the movement.

Naming these realities is very important.

It is part of strengthening it.

Because liberation is not built on silence or comfort.

It is built on courage, accountability and the willingness to keep evolving.

Women have always been the architects of survival.

In homes, in movements, in the quiet spaces where resistance is born.

This International Women’s Day, we honour the courage to speak, organize, and imagine a world beyond patriarchy.

Because when women rise, entire communities transform.

Give to gain. Invest in women.

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

For many q***r Muslims, Eid is not a celebration, it is a reminder of distance, silence or family spaces they can no longer safely enter.

At She Huru, we know that faith and q***rness are not opposites. And we know that everyone deserves to celebrate Eid in safety, joy, and belonging.

This Eid, we are raising funds to host a chosen family gathering for q***r Muslims who have been rejected, isolated, or left without support.

A warm meal. A safe space. Shared laughter.
Prayer without fear. Community without judgment.

Your donation is not just money. It is dignity. It is belonging. It is a reminder that no one should celebrate alone.

Stand with us. Help us create an Eid where everyone feels held.
