Pwani Empowerment Network CBO is comprised of graduates(from college certificate to PHD) who seek to bridge the information gap in the community by fully utilizing the emerging media and information technology to avail,distribute and preserve information to the RIGHT people and at the RIGHT time. To achieve this, Pwani Empowerment Network seeks to pursue the following objectives:
• Maximizing the
availability of relevant and credible information to communities through creation of an information database for all, distribution, and preservation of information through that database.
• Strengthening the capacity of individuals to engage with information through organizing capacity building and civic education trainings that will enable people have access to the tools they need and opportunities to develop their skills.
• Promoting individual engagement with information and the public life of the community through development of an individual-professional-stakeholder network that will offer professional advice, and generate opportunities and motivation for involvement
