Today, as the world commemorates the Day of the African Child, we join the continent in reflecting on this year's theme: "Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa."

At SAAS, we recognize that every child deserves not only access to clean water and safe sanitation, but also the opportunity to receive a quality education and pursue their dreams.

To our incredible donors and sponsors, thank you for standing with our young scholars. Your generosity continues to open classroom doors, restore hope, and empower children to build brighter futures through education.

Together, we are raising a generation of resilient, educated, and empowered African children.

Happy Day of the African Child.
Thank you for believing in our scholars.

Today, we join all Kenyans in commemorating the 63rd Madaraka Day, marking the historic moment when Kenya attained self-governance and took a significant step toward independence.

As we celebrate this important milestone, we reflect on this year's theme: "EDUCATION, SKILLS and FUTURE." The theme reminds us that investing in education and empowering young people with relevant skills is key to building a prosperous, innovative, and resilient nation.

At SAAS, we remain committed to supporting vulnerable students through education, helping them unlock their potential and become the leaders, professionals, and change-makers of tomorrow.

As we honor the sacrifices of those who paved the way for our freedom, let us also commit ourselves to creating opportunities that empower the next generation and shape a brighter future for Kenya.

HAPPY MADARAKA DAY!

BACK TO SCHOOL

It was a busy weekend at the office as students and parents streamed in to collect school fees cheques ahead of school reopening.

Schools in Kenya are set to reopen for the second term of the 2026 academic year on April 27, following a three-week break after the end of Term 1.

Our girls were all smiles as they received their sanitary packs for the new term—ensuring they return to school confident and prepared.

We wish all our students safe travels back to school and the very best as they begin the new term.

CAREER TALK SESSION

Today, we held an impactful and inspiring career talk session with our secondary school students, focusing on career development and life beyond the classroom.

The students were encouraged to discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and align their academic journey with their future goals. The session also emphasized the importance of discipline, consistency, and making informed subject and career choices.

The discussion was led by Mr. David Kwemoi, Dean of Students at Waa Girls High School, and Mr. Bendictor Luganje, a SAAS alumnus and teacher at Matuga Girls High School. Their insights and experiences greatly enriched the session.

Beyond academics, we highlighted the importance of essential life skills such as communication, leadership, and resilience—key qualities that will help students navigate both challenges and opportunities.

Students were reminded that success is not limited to one path. Whether through university, technical training, or entrepreneurship, there are many ways to achieve their dreams. Most importantly, they were encouraged to believe in themselves, stay focused, and never allow their background to limit their ambitions.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our alumni—Tabitha (beautician and salon owner), Dan (Developer and IT expert), Oscar (journalist), Moses (Cybersecurity expert), Phylis (Maritime Transport and Logistics student), and Philip Charo (Aeronautical Engineering student at the East African School of Aviation). Their personal journeys served as powerful inspiration, showing that with determination and resilience, anything is possible.

We are proud to walk this journey with our students as they shape their futures.
