DAY 2 OF CHEQUE COLLECTION

Despite the rainy morning in Mombasa, our students, parents, and guardians made their way to the SAAS office to collect their school fees cheques as they prepare to return to school for Term 3.

We are encouraged by the commitment and determination of our scholars as they get ready for another term of learning and growth.

To all our students and everyone travelling back to school, we wish you journey mercies and a safe return. May the new term be filled with success and great achievements.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Preparations are in top gear as students across Kenya get ready to return to school for the third and final term of the 2026 academic year.

The SAAS office was a hive of activity as students, parents, and guardians came in to collect their school fees cheques ahead of schools reopening on Monday.

Our girls also left with smiles on their faces as they received their sanitary packs, an important part of our continued efforts to support their well-being and ensure they can attend school with confidence and dignity.

As our scholars prepare to begin another term, we wish them renewed focus, determination, and success in their studies.

To all SAAS students and learners across Kenya travelling back to school, we wish you safe journeys and a successful third term.

SAAS PARENTS’ MEETING

As part of our holistic approach to nurturing and supporting our young scholars, we successfully held a parents and guardians’ meeting at the SAAS office.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to share feedback on issues raised by students during their Peer Talk and Counselling Sessions held as part of our August Holiday Tuition Programme.

Parents and guardians committed to playing a more active role in supporting their children, particularly by creating a safe and open environment where students feel comfortable sharing the challenges they experience both at home and at school.

The discussions also provided valuable insights into family dynamics and their impact on students’ academic performance, emotional well-being, and personal development.

We agreed to strengthen our collaborative approach, bringing together SAAS, parents, schools, and students to ensure our young scholars receive the support they need to navigate their mental, emotional, physical, and academic challenges.

At SAAS, we believe that empowering a child requires all of us to work together.

AUGUST HOLIDAY TUITION 2026 – DAY 12

On Saturday, we successfully hosted our Peer Talk and Counselling Session, welcoming an impressive 89 students and officially bringing our two-week August Holiday Tuition Programme to a close.

The session provided a safe and supportive platform for our students to freely express themselves, share their experiences, and gain valuable skills and coping mechanisms to help them navigate the challenges they face in their daily lives as they pursue academic excellence.

Our dedicated facilitators, Mr. Sheddy and Madam Lillian, expertly guided the session and have continued to walk alongside our young scholars over the years, helping them develop resilience and confidence.

At SAAS, we take pride in our holistic approach to education, nurturing not only academic excellence but also the emotional and personal development of our students.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our scholars who attended the programme, our dedicated teachers and volunteer tutors, and our Peer Talk facilitators for their commitment and contribution.

Special appreciation goes to the SAAS Board for making this programme possible and for the invaluable guidance and support that contributed to its success.

Together, we have made a difference. We look forward to an even bigger and better programme next year.

AUGUST HOLIDAY TUITION 2026 – DAY 11

Day 11 of our SAAS August Holiday Tuition Programme has concluded successfully, with a remarkable 85 students turning up for the final learning session.

Today marks the end of the academic learning sessions of our two-week programme, which has been an incredibly impactful and rewarding experience for our young scholars.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all our dedicated teachers and volunteer tutors for their commitment, patience, and invaluable contribution towards nurturing and empowering our students through knowledge.

We also applaud our students for their enthusiasm, commitment, resilience, and determination to improve their academic performance and become better versions of themselves.

Tomorrow, we meet for a final Peer Talk and Counselling Session, which will officially bring this year's August Holiday Tuition Programme to a close.

What a journey it has been.

Day 10 of our SAAS August Holiday Tuition Programme has concluded successfully.

Today, we welcomed an impressive 84 students, bringing us one step closer to the conclusion of this impactful two-week learning programme.

As we approach the finish line, we are grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated by our young scholars, teachers, and volunteer tutors throughout the programme.

We look forward to finishing strong as we prepare for Day 11 – our final day of learning.

We kicked off the second week of our SAAS August Holiday Tuition Programme on a high note, with an impressive 82 students turning up for classes today.

It is encouraging to see our young scholars maintaining their enthusiasm and commitment to learning as we enter the second and final week of the programme.

We look forward to another productive week filled with learning, interaction, and growth.

Together, we continue to nurture dreams and empower young minds through education.

PEER TALK & COUNSELLING SESSION

As part of our holistic approach to moulding our students into confident, resilient, and well-rounded young people, we held a successful Peer Talk and Counselling Session today.

The session provided our students with a safe and supportive space to express themselves openly, share their experiences, and discuss challenges without fear of judgement.

The discussions focused on key areas including:

• Trauma recovery
• Coping mechanisms
• Emotional intelligence
• Peer pressure and self-esteem

Our dedicated facilitators, Mr. Sheddy and Madam Lillian, guided the students through practical skills and coping mechanisms to help them navigate the challenges they encounter in their daily lives and academic journeys.

The session provided a valuable break from a week of academic learning during our two-week August Holiday Tuition Programme, allowing our scholars to reflect, connect, and focus on their mental and emotional well-being.

We were delighted to welcome an impressive 94 students for the session.

As we wrap up Week 1, we look forward to an exciting and impactful Week 2 of the August Holiday Tuition Programme, beginning Monday.

Because empowering a young person goes beyond the classroom—it means nurturing the whole person.
