🎉 End of Year Staff Party - A Wrap to Remember! 🎉

What a day! As we closed out 2024, we gathered as a team to celebrate our journey, the highs, and the lessons that came with it.

✅ We took a moment to review 2024 – reflecting on our wins that made us proud and the gaps that gave us room to grow.
📈 We also laid out our plans for 2025, and trust us – it’s looking brighter than ever!

Of course, it wasn’t all work! We played Secret Santa 🎁, exchanged heartfelt gifts, shared a delicious meal 🥘, and made memories to last.

We had an amazing day celebrating with family and friends. The boys invited their friends for a Fun Day filled with energy—playing various sports, sharing laughter, and enjoying delicious meals together.

A special thank you to our wonderful partner, Zion Hospital, for blessing us with dry goods that made the day even more special. Your support truly added to the joy and warmth of the celebrations.

🎉 Parent Engagement Day Recap! 🏡👦

Yesterday was nothing short of amazing as we hosted our Parent Engagement Program! This event brought together the incredible parents and guardians of the boys we’ve worked with on their journey of rehabilitation and reintegration. 🌟💙

It was a day filled with meaningful conversations, laughter, and shared experiences. Parents shared their stories of progress, the boys’ newfound confidence, and how they're adjusting to life back home. From small victories like taking responsibility at home 🧹🕒 to big wins like returning to school 📚 or pursuing their passions 🎨⚽—it’s clear these young men are making strides!

We also took time to discuss ways to keep the momentum going—encouraging open communication, offering unwavering support, and building strong foundations for the future. 💪🏽💬

And of course, we couldn’t let the day end without some fun! Whether it was sharing a meal, participating in games, or just enjoying each other’s company, the smiles and laughter were the true highlight. 😄✨

During this phase, our focus includes:

Conducting organizational assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities.

Engaging in strategic planning to align our mission and programs with the goals of family-based care.

Developing comprehensive transition plans in collaboration with stakeholders, guided by the Children Act 2022 and the National Care Reform Strategy.

This journey is about more than compliance—it's about building stronger communities and brighter futures for children. Stay tuned as we work together to implement innovative, sustainable, and impactful care solutions.

"Today, our boys took an important step in their journey to manhood as they were taught about circumcision the Christian way. This moment is not just about tradition but also about instilling values of faith, discipline, and respect as they prepare for the initiation process.

This month, 5 of our boys will be undergoing the initiation with the support of their brothers, Ricc staff as well as the support of the church through Reverend Ben Mwanda.

We are proud to see them embrace this rite of passage with courage and understanding, guided by God’s word. May this season be a time of growth, reflection, and blessings for them and for all the families supporting their boys through this journey. 🙏

Family Fun Day 3

What a fun-filled and educational day with the boys! 🎉

We kicked off at the Technical University of Mombasa, where they attended a fascinating lecture on careers. Watching them dream big and ask questions about their futures was truly inspiring. 🌟

Next, we took a dive into history at Fort Jesus, one of Mombasa’s most iconic landmarks. Built by the Portuguese in the late 1500s, it was designed as a fortress to protect their trade route to India. The boys were captivated by its story of battles, sieges, and cultural exchanges over the centuries. It’s amazing how history comes alive when you’re standing right in it! 🏰📖

After that, we strolled through the picturesque Mama Ngina Waterfront before heading to the ferry. The boys learned about how the ferry operates and its importance in connecting Mombasa Island to the mainland. They couldn’t get enough of the ride across the Likoni Channel! 🌊🚢

To top it all off, we hit Mombasa Beach, where the boys splashed, swam, and soaked in the beauty of the Indian Ocean. Nothing beats ending the day with sandy toes, salty smiles, and lots of laughter! 🌞🏖️

Grateful for these moments of exploration and bonding. Here’s to raising curious and adventurous young minds! ❤️

🌿🌞 Had an amazing day with the boys at Haller Park in Mombasa! Such a fascinating place, turning former mining grounds into a lush, green oasis. We loved exploring the trails, spotting wildlife, and learning how this area has been transformed into a thriving ecosystem! 🌱🌳 The boys were so curious about the environmental restoration and the steps taken to bring life back to these grounds. 🐢🦒 Between feeding giraffes and spotting hippos, they got to see firsthand how nature can heal with a little help! 👏 An unforgettable mix of fun and learning.
