on Tuesday 4th November we received a delegation from Muslim Charity Org UK, including their Regional Director, Mombasa County Coordinator, and two representatives from their UK office. The purpose of the visit was to assess progress on the projects we have jointly implemented. The team visited Muftalkeir CBO and Longo Primary School in Mtongwe. We appreciate this continued partnership as we work together to impact and uplift communities.

This week, Tubonge Youth CBO facilitated an Interpersonal Therapy Group (IPTG) session with learners at Mtongwe Primary School in Likoni sub-county.

The group therapy provided a safe space for children to Share their experiences and feelings, Build peer support networks and Learn positive coping strategies for emotional wellbeing.

Through IPTG, we aim to strengthen mental health support at the community level, ensuring that young people have the resilience and confidence they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Together, we continue to break the stigma around mental health and create supportive spaces for growth.

In the month of August, Tubonge Youth CBO facilitated an intensive training and group discussions for our Women in Business groups at the Likoni Youth Empowerment Centre.

The sessions focused on:
✅ Building entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy.
✅ Strengthening group savings and lending practices.
✅ Encouraging peer-to-peer learning through open discussions.
✅ Exploring sustainable business opportunities for women-led enterprises.

These trainings created a space for women to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and build confidence in running their businesses. By equipping women with the right tools and networks, we are not only fostering stronger enterprises but also creating lasting community impact.

We are proud of the progress made and excited to see our women continue thriving as changemakers in their families and communities.

Field Visits with Women in Business Beneficiaries.

In the month of August, the Tubonge Youth CBO team conducted field visits to meet with women group beneficiaries under the Women in Business Program.

The visits gave us an opportunity to follow up on the progress of the women’s enterprises, Provide mentorship and guidance on business management, Identify challenges and explore solutions together, Celebrate success stories and best practices from the women making a difference in their communities.

These interactions remind us that empowering women with skills, resources, and continuous support leads to sustainable livelihoods and stronger families. We are proud of the incredible work our women beneficiaries are doing every day!

Our Monday kickstarted with an inspiring Women in Business Program team meeting!

During the session, the team reviewed the monthly workplan and mapped out activities to empower women entrepreneurs throughout the month.

The Women in Business Program under Tubonge Youth CBO is designed to:
🌱 Equip women with entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills.
💼 Support women groups through microfinance, savings & lending models, and table banking initiatives.
🤝 Build networks that strengthen women’s voices in leadership, decision-making, and economic growth.
🌍 Provide opportunities for women to explore sustainable businesses, including eco-friendly ventures like recycling and creative enterprises.

This program is not only about building businesses—it’s about building confidence, resilience, and independence among women in our communities. Together, we are shaping a future where women thrive as change-makers and economic drivers.

Tubonge Youth CBO is pleased to announce the successful completion of the ICAN/ICAR Project under the support of Usawa Agenda

Over the past weeks, our team has:
📍 Conducted Enumeration Area Mapping in partnership with village elders.
📍 attended a 2½-day training for our dedicated volunteers in Kwale County.
📍 Carried out the actual household assessment across 6 Enumeration Areas in Likoni, Changamwe, Jomvu, Kisauni, Mvita, and Nyali, reaching at least 120 households.

This milestone demonstrates the power of youth-led community action in driving data collection, accountability, and citizen participation. We deeply appreciate our volunteers, community leaders, and partners who made this possible. Together, we are building a more informed and inclusive society.

We are excited to announce the successful handover of a brand-new submersible water pump to Longo Primary School in Mtongwe Ward under a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiative aimed at promoting access to clean and safe water for school children and surrounding communities.

This life-changing intervention, done in partnership with Muslim Charity Foundation, directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by ensuring a sustainable water source that enhances hygiene practices, improves school attendance, and strengthens community health resilience.

For years, Longo Primary School faced challenges in accessing reliable water, affecting learners’ hygiene, nutrition, and overall well-being. The installation of the submersible pump marks a new chapter of dignity, safety, and improved learning conditions.

"Clean water is not a privilege—it is a right. With this project, we move a step closer to achieving equity and health for all," said the representative from Tubonge Youth CBO.

We remain grateful to Muslim Charity for their steadfast support, and to the school and community leadership for their collaboration.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable solutions that empower communities and uphold every child’s right to education and well-being.
