A leader with mission and vision.

It's happening again in Mtopanga ward under the leadership of Hon. Awinda Oketch, the incoming MCA Mtopanga ward.

Hon. Awindah Oketch through his Awindah Oketch foundation, Team Awindah Mashinani and in partnership with Coast Institute of maritime and Business studies and the office of the area Chief has organized a 3 days capacity building Workshop for all the village elders in Mtopanga ward. The event will be graced by key leaders and attended by Mtopanga opinion leaders among other invited guest.

Training and capacity building was one of the key areas in Hon. Awinda Oketch 2022 campaign manifesto under the Elimu Bora agenda. A dream that he is fulfilling slowly but surely.

We as Suluhu Ya Mtopanga CBO and Awindah Oketch Foundation are dedicated to finish illiteracy in the society as large by providing 75% Sponsorship On Courses under the ‘Finish Illeteracy ,Save the world initiative which was launched by Oketch Awindah in collaboration with Suluhu Ya Mtopanga CBO amongst many Organizations.Let’s all join hands and enroll to courses of our choices for the May Intake.

27th March 2024 We joined other stake holders in Gender-based Violence TWG, in Kisauni Sub-County technical working group meeting with the Key stakeholders.
Participants were drawn from the Department of Health,National Government Administration, National Department of Children Services, police service,probation department,Sub-County ward administrator Kisauni,Sub-County Education office religious leaders,probation officers among other CSOs
The objective of the meeting was to deliberate on matters pertaining to GBV and effective referrals of the cases.

I am excited to represent Suluhu Ya Mtopanga CBO& Awindah Oketch Foundation in the Mental Health Advocacy Forum held on 31st January 2024 in Mtopanga,Kisauni Constituency organized by the Mombasa Women Empowerment Network which saw an impressive turnout and enthusiastic community involvement.

The event sparked meaningful conversations about mental health, with participants showing a keen interest in learning and engaging in the discussions.

Special thanks to Rafik Rauf from Mission Relief, who enlightened us on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and its management.Mrs.Janet Beja, representing Nacada Kenya, for her insights on the current state of drug and substance abuse in Kenya and Nacada's intervention strategies in partnership with Mombasa Women. Mama Maryam Musa, a consultant in psychology and a specialist in home-based care.

We are hopeful that the forum will continue to foster increased awareness and support for mental health within our community.
