Yesterday at Swahilipot Hub Foundation, we hosted an impactful Fireside Chat exploring the realities of digital safety, online abuse and the experiences of young people navigating today’s digital spaces.
Under the theme “When Harm Goes Online: Young People, Digital Spaces and the Fight Against TFGBV,” the conversation brought together voices and experiences that highlighted the importance of creating safer, more inclusive and responsible online spaces.
The session was moderated by Esha Mohamed, with insights from Margaret Phombea, Clinical Officer & TFGBV Champion, and Collins Masai, Journalist, Corporate MC & TFGBV Champion.
From understanding the different forms of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) to discussing how young people can protect themselves and support others, the conversation encouraged awareness, accountability and action.
Creating safer digital spaces starts with knowledge, empathy and collective responsibility.
