What an incredible impact during Menstrual Health Month!

Reasons to smile is excited to share that we reached 436 girls and young women with powerful menstrual health education and distributed dignity kits that are helping girls manage their periods with confidence, pride, and dignity.

The energy, the conversations, and the smiles reminded us why we do this work. Together with our partners, supporters, and volunteers, we are breaking stigma, restoring confidence, and creating a world where no girl is left behind because of her period!

It was exciting to join the world this evening in celebration of Menstrual Health and Hygiene Day with 36 young women at Sajahanad Tailoring School.

Together with our partners Chupis , we held an interactive session focused on menstrual hygiene, myth-busting, and open discussions that empower young women with accurate information and confidence.

After the session, we donated dignity kits to support the girls and promote menstrual dignity and confidence as they continue their daily activities.

Last week, Reasons to smile was honoured to attend the 9th KIPPRA Annual Regional Conference 2026 under the theme “Strengthening Value Chains for Inclusive Growth in Kenya.”

The 3-day conference was a valuable space for learning, networking, and engaging with policymakers, innovators, and development partners on sustainable community empowerment solutions.

We were inspired by discussions on inclusive growth, women and youth empowerment, and strengthening value chains for better livelihoods.

Today at the Reasons to smile Community Space, we had a powerful menstrual health and hygiene session with 36 girls from Nguu Tatu Village.

The session focused on menstrual health education, where we openly discussed and busted common myths about menstruation, creating a safe space for learning, questions, and confidence building.

We also distributed dignity kits to support the girls in managing their menstrual health with dignity and comfort.

A big thank you to Maji Safi friends for the continued support and partnership. Together with our partners, we continues to empower girls with knowledge, confidence, and essential menstrual health support.

Reasons to smile were honoured to participate in a two-day care mainstreaming workshop under the Time to Care project.
Convened by Oxfam in partnership with the Centre for Domestic Training and Development , the workshop provided a valuable platform to strengthen our knowledge on recognizing, reducing, and redistributing unpaid care work especially among women and girls. We engaged in insightful discussions on how care responsibilities affect access to education, economic opportunities, and overall well-being.

We are inspired to apply these learnings in our programs as we continue advocating for gender equality and empowering our communities.
