MOMBASA YOUTH CONSULTATIVE AND DIALOGUE FORUM

Manyunyu was engaged in a consultative and dialogue forum on peace matters held at Mtopanga Catholic Church, Mombasa.

The forum was facilitated by the National Steering Committee on Peacebuilding and Conflict Management (NSC) and brought together key stakeholders from the Junda community to deliberate on peace and security dynamics affecting the area.

In attendance were the County Commissioner, Deputy County Commissioner, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs, County Government representatives, religious leaders, parents, and youth from across the sub-county among others.

The engagement provided a platform for candid discussions on community-level conflict, the coordination of peace initiatives from village to county level, and the critical role of youth as agents of peace.

As an invited organization, Manyunyu was honored to be part of the dialogue and to contribute to the reflections on what has worked, the existing gaps, and the way forward for sustainable peace in Mombasa.

We appreciate the NSC Secretariat and all stakeholders for creating space for this important conversation.

International Youth Day reminds us that young people are not just the future — they are leading solutions right now. When we create space for youth voices, we build stronger, more inclusive communities.

That is why Manyunyu Organization, together with Youth Alive Kenya
and other organizations, joined to commemorate this year’s International Youth Day 2026 under the theme: “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”

The day began with a powerful procession from Saba Saba to Tononoka Social Hall, where youth came together to engage, share ideas, and commit to action.
We were present. We participated. We made our voices heard.
