Football Has the Power to Unite ❤️⚽
Today, Jiamini Youth had the pleasure of playing a friendly match against the amazing athletes from Pwani Special School.
While Jiamini Youth won the match, the score was never the most important part of the day. The Pwani Special Olympics team showed incredible determination, teamwork, and resilience, making it a competitive and enjoyable game from start to finish.
The match gave both teams an opportunity to learn from one another, build friendships, and see that football is for everyone, regardless of ability. By the final whistle, there was laughter, respect, and smiles on both sides some players were asking when can we play again soon. This is proof that sport can break barriers and bring people together.
This friendly match is just the beginning. We look forward to meeting again, this time in a Unified Football game where players with and without intellectual disabilities play together on the same team, promoting inclusion, equality, and friendship.
Together, we are proving that football is more than a game it is a tool for inclusion, respect, and positive social change.
