Spend the day with Gabriel, one of our riders who delivers uji to schools, as he navigates the Embu terrain and tells us what means to him.🥰

Welcome to F4Es Embu kitchen — where the uji is bussin’, the operations are giving, and tens of thousands of learners are getting served every single day. We are sooo locked in 🔒

Embu, we are here! ✨

In partnership with Embu County Government, we are proud to be serving a daily cup of fortified uji to close to 20,000 learners across the region — powered by a dedicated team of over 500 staff members drawn from the local community.

Grateful to the County Government leadership of Embu for championing this programme and ensuring that more children move through their school day energized, focused, and ready to learn.

🇰🇪 Happy Madaraka Day!

As we honor our nation’s journey, we remain committed to empowering the next generation through nutritious meals that fuel learning, growth, and opportunity.

Together, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Kenya—one child, one meal, and one future at a time.

In case you missed it — this one deserves a second watch. Trevor Noah sat down with Wawira Njiru about what it means to build systems with African communities at the centre, not as beneficiaries, but as architects of our own future.

Africa doesn’t need imported answers to African problems.
It needs investment in local innovation, local leadership, and systems built by people who understand the realities on the ground.

Still soaking in the joy of this moment. 💛🎉

As we celebrated 200 million meals served, we were reminded that this journey has always been about people — the children we serve, the communities we work alongside, and everyone who has believed in this mission from the start.

From shared meals and smiles to music, dancing, and reflection, the celebration was a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come together — and how much more is possible.

At the Addis International Early Childhood Development Conference 2026 in Addis Ababa, Food4Education hosted a side marketplace session on the future of ECD school feeding across Africa. 🌍

We shared how our model integrates nutrition into broader ECD systems through government partnerships, scalable kitchen infrastructure, and our Tap2Eat platform, while exploring the role of financing, policy, and co-investment in institutionalizing ECD nutrition.

We left Addis with new partnerships and renewed conviction that investing in integrated, government-led ECD systems is one of Africa’s highest-leverage opportunities.

200 million meals served.

200 million reasons to believe in the power of school meals. đź’š

Since day one, every plate has meant more than food — it’s meant focus in the classroom, dignity for families, and opportunity for the next generation.

What started as a bold idea has become a movement powered by parents, schools, governments, communities, and partners who believe no child should learn hungry.

To every child, cook, parent, teacher, supporter, and team member who made this milestone possible: thank you.

And we’re just getting started. 🍲✨

200,000,000 meals served since 2012. Yes!

How, you may ask?

A farmer planted.

A cook woke up before sunrise.

A parent topped up a Tap2Eat account.

A county government chose to invest in children.

And a team of 5,500 people showed up every single day to make it all possible.

Across 15 counties, together, Kenya is proving what’s possible when no child is left to learn hungry.

And somehow, this still feels like just the beginning. 🙏🏾
