We are thrilled to share that Grace Kamau, Regional Coordinator at the African S*x Workers' Alliance (ASWA), has been elected President of the Global Network of S*x Work Projects (NSWP).

Graceโ€™s election marks a significant milestone for African leadership within the international human rights landscape. Her commitment to dignity, health, and justice for s*x workers has been instrumental in strengthening our regional networks, and we look forward to the transformative progress her global presidency will bring.

New Era for kenya

26/02/2026

For years, BHESP has remained committed to expanding access to PrEP for our community.

We have participated in research.
We have contributed to discussions.
We have shared lived experiences in spaces where policy is shaped.

From early conversations on differentiated PrEP choices to advocating for long-acting options, our focus has always been clear, accessibility, dignity, and real choice for women in all our diversity

We have stayed present.
We have stayed engaged.
We have stayed consistent.

Today, we are seeing the evolution of that dedication.

This launch is not just an event.
It represents years of research engagement, advocacy, and commitment to ensuring our community is not left behind.

Because access to PrEP is not a privilege โ€” it is a right.

๐Ÿ’‰ Lenacapavir & Dual Protection: A New Era in HIV Prevention , But Letโ€™s Do It Right!
The introduction of Lenacapavir marks a powerful milestone in the fight against HIV.
This long-acting injection , given once every six months , offers strong protection against HIV, especially for those who struggle with daily pills. It is a game changer for women and young people who need discreet, reliable prevention options.
But here is the truth ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ
Lenacapavir protects against HIV only.
It does NOT: โŒ Prevent other s*xually transmitted infections (STIs)
โŒ Prevent unintended pregnancy
That is why we must continue to promote DUAL PROTECTION.
โœ”๏ธ Use condoms to prevent STIs and pregnancy
โœ”๏ธ Use HIV prevention methods like Lenacapavir
โœ”๏ธ Make informed choices about family planning
Real empowerment means comprehensive protection โ€” not partial protection.
As we scale up HIV prevention innovations, letโ€™s also strengthen condom promotion, reproductive health education, and informed consent.
Protection is power.
Knowledge is power.
Choice is power.

Today we mark International Condom Day โค๏ธ
Condoms are not just a product โ€” they are protection, responsibility, and care.
Condoms help prevent: โœ”๏ธ HIV
โœ”๏ธ Other s*xually transmitted infections (STIs)
โœ”๏ธ Unintended pregnancies
In a country like Kenya where we continue to fight new HIV infections and teenage pregnancies, condoms remain one of the most accessible and effective prevention tools.
Using a condom does NOT mean you donโ€™t trust your partner.
It means you value your health.
It means you value their health.
It means you are thinking about your future.
Letโ€™s normalize: โœจ Carrying condoms without shame
โœจ Talking openly about protection
โœจ Choosing safety over stigma
Protection is power.
Love responsibly. Protect consistently.
