We, the Ngaremara Conservation CBO, wish to express our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Martin Ekuam, the Ngaremara community, his colleagues at Ewaso Lions , and all conservation partners during this difficult time.
Martin Ekuam, fondly known as Martoo, was a humble and passionate individual who dedicated his life to serving his community. He was also a dedicated driver who worked with conservation organizations, playing a vital role in supporting field operations and conservation efforts on the ground. His commitment and service greatly contributed to the success of many initiatives.
He was a committed conservationist whose efforts and contributions made a lasting impact on both people and wildlife. His work with Nakuprat Gotu Wildlife Community Conservancy and later with Ewaso Lions stands as a true testament to his dedication, courage, and love for conservation.
Martoo was more than a conservationist — he was a mentor, a friend, and a role model to many. His legacy will continue to inspire current and future generations in the conservation field. His passing is a great loss not only to his family and community but also to the entire conservation fraternity.
As Ngaremara Conservation CBO, we stand in solidarity with his family, friends, and colleagues. May you find strength and comfort during this painful moment.
May his soul rest in eternal peace. His legacy will live on.
