Organizing and conducting conferences, seminars, workshops, electronic meetings and discussions on matters relating to the secretarial profession. Foster and maintaining a high level of professionalism, effectiveness and status of the secretaria
l profession. Establishing a code of conduct for the secretarial professionals and to enforce observance of the code of conduct for its members. Encouraging and assisting members to develop their careers within and beyond the secretarial profession. Setting professional standards and to confer national recognition upon the practitioners. To perform any other functions in the furtherance and promotion of the objectives of the association. The association is registered under the Societies Act. It was officially launched in 2012 by the then Minister of State for Public Service, Hon. The association also held its first Gala Night the same evening of the launch date and was presided over by the then Minister for Water & Irrigation and current Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. At inception, the association was temporarily accommodated in the office of the Head of Secretarial Services until it acquired its own offices at National Housing Corporation (NHC) building, 2nd floor, opposite Cooperative Bank Building. Leadership: The association has its membership base spread all the country and for that reason, it has a leadership structure extending to county level. At ministerial level, every ministry has representatives elected by the members at the respective ministry headquarters. The same applies to the state parastatals, departments or agencies.
