The workshop for cancer support groups in the community.
We believe in walking this unique journey with them as a support system by supporting and empowering them with emotional healing tools.
Our cancer support groups (cancer survivors, cancer patients and cancer caregivers) are one of our best platforms for our community cancer prevention advocacy tool to the rural areas of Kenya.

🎥 During our last medical camp, one of our reproductive health nurses shared an important message in Kimeru on the importance of early screening and taking charge of our health. Early detection saves lives, gives hope, and opens the door for timely treatment and support.

At Naledi Initiative, we continue to champion awareness, preventive healthcare, and community wellness through medical camps and health education. Let us encourage one another to go for regular screening and prioritize our well-being.

Last week Saturday, the people of Kinyenjere experienced a meaningful day of care, hope, and community support during our Medical Camp organized in partnership with Muuga Fm , Department of Health Services - Meru County, Kimathi's Family and other partners.

Our team was fully prepared and committed to serve from registration, triage, consultation rooms, screening rooms, laboratory services, and pharmacy, ensuring that every individual received quality and compassionate care throughout the day.

We are also deeply grateful to our hospitality team for taking wonderful care of everyone with refreshing meals and warm support that kept the team and participants energized.

Special appreciation goes to our incredible partners whose support made the entire event smoother and more impactful. Your generosity, collaboration, and commitment to community health made it possible for us to reach and serve many people effectively. 🙏

Together, we continue to champion cancer awareness, early screening, and healthier communities because early detection saves lives.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, volunteered, partnered with us, and supported this noble cause. The journey of hope continues.

According to WHO, cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The majority of the cancer burden occurs in low-and middle-income countries where cancer has a profound social and economic effect on communities because of the limited access to care.

Our main focus is on cervical and breast cancer in underserved rural communities in Kenya. This is because according to WHO data state that 94% of deaths due to cervical cancer occur in low-and middle-income countries. The level of poverty in this areas is very high so they can't afford this kind of services and also the access to public health services is limited and screening and treatment for the disease have not been widely implemented.
Breast cancer is leading with new cancer cases in Kenya but cervical cancer is leading in terms of deaths of cancer cases.

Our vision and mission is to reach as many as can in the rural communities of Kenya through treatment of precancerous lesions and screening because we believe early detection can save life and give hope.
