Naledi Initiative, in partnership with A Fresh Chapter, invites all cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors to join us for a meaningful grassroots workshop focused on healing, emotional wellness, and building supportive connections.

This workshop creates a safe space to share stories, process emotions, and connect with others walking similar journeys. Together, we will explore resilience, hope, and ways to embrace both the light and challenging parts of the cancer experience.

🧠 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫?

Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast grow uncontrollably, forming a tumor. These cells can sometimes spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body if not treated early.

🚨 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 & 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀

Early detection is key. Watch for:

Lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
Changes in breast size or shape
Ni**le discharge (not breast milk)
Ni**le turning inward (retraction)
Skin changes (dimpling, redness, or texture like an orange peel)
Persistent breast pain

🔍 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱

Doctors use several methods to confirm breast cancer:

Mammogram – screening tool to detect early changes
Ultrasound – helps distinguish solid vs fluid lumps
Biopsy – confirms if cells are cancerous

💡 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀

Perform regular breast self-exams
Get routine screenings (especially after age 40–50)
Maintain a healthy weight and active lifestyle
Limit alcohol intake
Know your family history

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, but early detection greatly improves survival rates. Regular screening and awareness of symptoms can make a life-saving difference.

We are proud to host a medical camp at Vipingo Central Primary School, Kilifi County, in partnership with the Department of Health and Sanitation Services – Kilifi County, Pwani, Detrex, and our dedicated Naledi Initiative volunteers.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: early detection saves lives.

During the camp, community members will have access to:
✔ Cervical cancer screening
✔ Breast cancer screening
✔ Prostate cancer screening
✔ General medical consultation
✔ Nutrition assessment

This initiative is more than just healthcare it is about empowering communities with knowledge, access, and hope for a healthier future.

We invite all residents of Kilifi and the surrounding areas to take advantage of these essential services. Let’s stand together in the fight against cancer through awareness, prevention, and early detection.
