A Heartfelt Farewell, A Lasting Impact – Njenge Initiative ✨
Last Friday, we gathered at Mpuri Junior and Pry School for the official handover of the Njenge Initiative, a transformative project by the Rotaract Club of Mount Kenya Meru. From mentoring and tree planting to beautifying learning spaces through wall painting, this initiative was a labor of love, service, and hope.
We were honored to be joined by Rtn. Prof. Omamo, who delivered an inspiring message to the students—one that will linger long after the event.
In his empowering address, Professor Omamo shared the four principles for doing good and being successful:
🌟 Focus – Direct your energy where it matters.
🌟 Believe – Trust in your potential and purpose.
🌟 Balance – Maintain harmony in all areas of life.
🌟 Courage – Be bold in the face of uncertainty.
He further encouraged the students to live by the Rotary 4-Way Test, a timeless guide for ethical living:
Of the things we think, say, or do:
1️⃣ Is it the truth?
2️⃣ Is it fair to all concerned?
3️⃣ Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4️⃣ Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
These words stirred something deep—not just in the students, but in all of us present.
As we concluded this phase of the Njenge Initiative, there was a shared sense of pride, joy, and commitment to doing more for our communities. The smiles were genuine, the gratitude palpable, and the spirit of Rotary alive in every detail.
This isn’t just a goodbye. It’s a beginning—of greater impact, stronger partnerships, and hearts forever connected.
To everyone who made this day possible: Asanteni sana. 🌿💚
