Citizens for Peace and Development (CIPAD) successfully conducted an inception forum for a project aimed at establishing Integrity Clubs in institutions of higher learning across Meru County. The forum brought together student representatives from Kenya Methodist University (KeMU), Kiirua Technical Training Institute (Kiirua TTI), and Meru Institute of Business Studies (MIBS).
This initiative is part of the TUNU (Tupigane na Ufisadi) project, implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in partnership with Transparency International and The Institute for Social Accountability (TISA), with funding support from the European Union. CIPAD is implementing the project at the county level as a sub-grantee.
During the forum, students were introduced to the concept and structure of Integrity Clubs and trained on the importance of personal and institutional integrity. They were guided through the Integrity Club establishment manual and encouraged to initiate and operationalize active clubs within their respective institutions.
This initiative represents a strategic investment in shaping a generation of ethical, responsible, and accountable leaders. By nurturing integrity among young people, the project aims to strengthen their understanding of good governance, inclusivity, and accountability in public and private institutions.
Overall, the program contributes to building a culture where integrity is valued and practiced, empowering youth to become champions in the fight against corruption and drivers of sustainable development within and outside the institutions.
