Ngare Ndare Forest Trust Forest Conservation and Community Development in Action In addition there are 4 large scale farms who are also members of the organisation.

This is a community organisation formed by the local community members who are oprganised into 6 community based groups around the forest. the large scale farm are Lewa wildlife conservancy, Kisima farm, Borana conservancy and Northern Frontier Ventures. Incoporated government bodies are Kenya forest service and Kenya wildlife Service.

This Mazingira Day, we were thrilled to join hands with our amazing partners—VIVO Nanyuki, Kenya Forest Service (KFS), WRUA Ngarendare, and AfrOrganic—for a successful tree-planting initiative!

Together, we are taking tangible steps to restore our landscapes, protect our water towers, and secure a greener, more resilient future for generations to come. A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and showed up for our environment. Every tree planted today is a promise kept to Mother Nature! 💚

In the last few days, we are proud to have joined forces with the Ngare Ndare Water Resource Users Association (WRUA) and dedicated local partners like the RVA, Afriorganic Kenya Limited, Regency Hotel, community members, Local Administration Office, Meru and Laikipia County Governments for a major Litter Collection Exercise in Ethi Town Centre and Ngare Ndare Town Centre!
A cleaner environment starts with collective action. Keeping our town centres clean is essential because it:

🚯 Prevents Pollution: Keeps plastic and waste from washing into our rivers, protecting water quality downstream.

🌿 Protects Wildlife: Stops domestic and wild animals from ingesting harmful plastic waste.

🏥 Promotes Public Health: Eliminates breeding grounds for pests and reduces disease risks for residents.

Let's all do our part to keep our markets and environment waste-free!

As we joined Lewa Wildlife Conservancy during today's World Rhino Day celebrations, We are encouraged to “Keep the Five Alive.” It is our duty to protect all five living rhino species through habitat conservation, anti-poaching measures, scientific research, and creating public awareness.

The five living rhino species are:
~White rhinoceros
~Black rhinoceros
~Greater one-horned rhinoceros, also called the Indian rhinoceros
~Javan rhinoceros
~Sumatran rhinoceros

The white and black rhinos are native to Africa, while the other three species are native to Asia.

These magnificent giants need our care and protection for future generations to come.

In honor of Central Bank of Kenya’s (CBK) 60th anniversary, the dedicated teams from the CBK Meru and Nyeri branches came together last weekend for a memorable day of celebration and conservation at Ngare Ndare Forest. Ngare Ndare Forest Trust achieved a major milestone on Friday 7th August 2026 after it was formally accepted into the Association of Private and Community Land Rhino Sanctuaries (APLRS).
As we all know, the Ngare Ndare Forest is home to more than 40 black rhinos and lately, some white rhinos have moved in. Joining this association gives NNFT a larger national forum to engage on matters related to rhino protection and an opportunity to attract support for rhino conservation.
