Jacoby Brown is legally blind, works the overnight shift at Walmart in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has inspired hundreds of thousands of people on TikTok by documenting his life with a disability and advocating for others like him.
In November 2024, a video he made on his break went viral β racking up 300,000 views in a week and a half. Walmart's own chief people officer shared it on LinkedIn. His DMs filled up with messages from disabled people across the country who felt seen for the first time.
"You may get 5, 6, 7 no's," he tells them. "But just keep going because I promise you you're going to get that yes."
What most of his followers don't know is that getting to work costs Jacoby $800 a month.
Paratransit doesn't serve his area of Little Rock. That leaves Uber and Lyft as his only options β roughly $200 a week just to get to and from his job. On a full-time Walmart salary, that is a significant chunk of every paycheck.
Jacoby was born with four eye conditions β optic nerve atrophy, nystagmus, exotropia, and hyperopia astigmatism β and has lived independently for years. He wants to keep it that way.
Funds raised will go toward transportation costs so Jacoby can keep showing up to work, keep living independently, and keep showing other disabled people what is possible.
