The schoolonboats programme was established in 2012 and is located within the islands of Mfangano, Kenya one of the many islands of Lake Victoria. The organization uses volunteers as community members to teach in education centers established in churches. With education and poverty alleviation an integral element of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, as well as Kenya’s own national V

ision 2030, The organization plays its role in remote communities such as above-mentioned Suba community of Sohkolo as critical focal points for deriving theoretical framework for development policy. Mfangano Island’s local School On Boats Program (SOBP), illustrates the vast spectrum of unique demographic, social, cultural and economic variables acting on the islands situational growth and development.
