Geef hockeyspullen een tweede leven in Kenia โค๏ธ

Afgelopen oktober organiseerden we een hockey- clinic in Kenia. De kinderen waren zรณ enthousiast dat we graag opnieuw hockey mogelijk willen maken.

De materialen die we toen gebruikten waren geleend van een lokale hockeyclub en zijn inmiddels weer terug. Daardoor zitten de kinderen nu zonder spullen.

Via een goede vriend hebben we nu een unieke kans: in juli gaat er een container naar Kenia en we mogen hockeyspullen meesturen!

Last Tuesday it was a special day.
Joseph Otieno has officially started at ๐—›๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—›๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—›๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต ๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—น.

What once felt uncertain has now turned into a new beginning and itโ€™s all thanks to the support, trust and kindness from you.

Joseph has shown strength, discipline and determination throughout this journey. From being part of Foundation Move Up from the very beginning, to stepping into this next chapter we couldnโ€™t be more proud.

Afgelopen oktober: zon, stof, lachende gezichten en een geรฏmproviseerd hockeyveld in Mathare, Nairobi.
Samen met Miled รฉn de lokale hockeyclub gaven we een clinicโ€ฆ en de energie? Ongekend. ๐Ÿ˜„
Voor even waren ze gewoon kinderen die speelden, renden en straalden zonder zorgen.

Maar hier komt de realiteit:
De sticks en spullen waren geleend. Voor รฉรฉn dag.
En hoe graag we ook wilden hockeysticks neem je niet even mee in je koffer.

Dus na die ene dag?
Spullen terug en de kinderen zonder hockey

En precies daarom dit bericht.

In juli vertrekt er een container naar Kenia.
Een zeldzame kans om wรฉl sticks, ballen en gear mee te sturen en hockey in Mathare echt een vervolg te geven.

KICC was alive, and our dancers showed up ready. Invited by Kubamba and represented by Mavuno Mathare, they stepped onto that stage and gave it everything the moves, the attitude, the joyโ€ฆ all of it.

Joseph Otieno is a bright, focused and hardworking young boy from our Foundation Move Up community. From the very beginning, he has been part of our journey through both the difficult and the joyful moments and we are extremely proud of him.

He is a true leader at our center, responsible and consistent, especially in taking care of the green spaces. Whenever we host visitors for community tours in Mathare, Joseph often joins in learning, observing, and confidently sharing. His dream is clear: ๐—ง๐—ข ๐—•๐—˜๐—–๐—ข๐— ๐—˜ ๐—” ๐—ง๐—ข๐—จ๐—ฅ ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—”๐——๐—˜๐—ฅ, guiding people through stories of his community and showing the beauty and resilience within it.
