Following their biodiversity exploration around the school, learners created art books filled with drawings of the plants, trees, insects, and other living things they observed. Every thriving garden begins with healthy soil.

Last week, our learners rolled up their sleeves and prepared their school garden for planting. From clearing and digging the soil to understanding why good soil preparation matters, students experienced one of the most important steps in sustainable farming.

Through hands-on learning, they discovered that successful farming doesn't begin with planting a seed—it begins with preparing the land. These practical experiences help build valuable agricultural skills while fostering responsibility, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for where our food comes from.

Oti, as we fondly knew him, was a driven and hardworking young man who spoke his mind freely and respectfully.

We first met him in 2018 through our school gardens program at the Cherish Watoto children's home, and from that moment, he became part of our family.

Even after completing high school, Oti remained closely connected to us, always willing to lend a hand.

His passing is a heartbreaking loss. A life full of promise and dreams has been cut far too short, leaving behind memories we will always cherish.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. You will be deeply missed, Oti, but never forgotten.
