New Year, New Documentary! 🎬

We’re excited to share our latest documentary highlighting the ongoing work of NaPO, a youth-led community organization in northern Kenya and 2025 Equator Initiative - winner
Our documentary showcasing how NaPO blends traditional ecological knowledge with sustainable restoration methods, restoring over 550 hectares and bringing 10,000+ hectares under community management. Initiatives like the Herder Conservation Network and the NaPO Conservation Cup empower youth, strengthen climate resilience, and foster community-led stewardship of Kenya’s fragile landscapes.

In celebration of Mother Earth day, we held
our annual NaPO Conservation Cup football tournament this week. The tournament aims to enhance the involvement of youth to restore the Mt Marsabit landscape through the spirit of football! 🏞️⚽️

Here’s a glimpse of what happened:

🌲 We launched our partnership ‘Trees for livelihood Improvement’ with the Tree Foundation to grow 50,000 tree seedlings in Marsabit.

🌵We celebrated our continued partnership with INUKA Afrika to restore the productivity of degraded landscapes in the Mt Marsabit area

⚽️ 19 football teams (304 football players) from around the Mt Marsabit Forest handpicked their designated sites and undertook specific restoration interventions i.e tree planting and our innovative Ramat model inspired by Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). Teams planted a total of 1500 tree seedlings during the tournament and successfully pruned, supported and managed 4430 tree species (FMNR)🌳
