For the past many years, David, BJ and family, have been moving and providing veterinary and technical services among the nomadic pastoralists of the Chalbi desert. It was during those travels that 6 month old Roba was brought to them by his father Ali Yara. David and BJ agreed to care for him while the family tried to get back on its feet. It was not long before Roba's developmental issues became
apparent and the special care he needed made it difficult for his family to support him. They asked BJ and David to continue his care indefinitely. They continued to move, now with little Roba, as part of the family. With Roba on board, other families with special needs children began to approach them for assistance. With this need in mind, it was decided to began the process of developing the facilities, equipment, caregivers and resource base to allow more of these children to be loved and cared for.
