Koimugul Indigenous Women Network (KIWN) engaged Endorois women with disabilities, Endorois women and girls, and Endorois men and youth in a meaningful dialogue on community land rights, ecosystem and climate governance, and the protection of women environmental defenders.
The discussion strengthened community awareness on the importance of securing Indigenous land rights, promoting inclusive participation in environmental decision-making, and safeguarding the vital role of women environmental defenders in protecting our natural resources for future generations.

Today, Koimugul Indigenous Women Network (KIWN), with support from Naapu funding, successfully conducted a climate change adaptation and mitigation advocacy session for Endorois young women aged below 35 years and also survivors of Gender based violance ,We were honored to engage more than 100 participants in meaningful discussions on building climate resilience and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
We sincerely thank Samburu Women Trust for being a strong and valued partner in empowering indigenous women and supporting community-led climate action. Together, we are creating a more resilient and sustainable future for our communities.with

Koimugul Indigenous Women Network (KIWN) successfully conducted an inception meeting bringing together key stakeholders, including police officers, officers from the Department of Gender, chiefs, village elders, representatives of women groups, KIWN committee members, and KIWN staff.
The meeting focused on understanding gender roles, social norms, and social responsibilities within our communities. Participants also discussed the biological characteristics of males and females and their relevance in promoting gender equality.
A key session focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), highlighting that GBV can affect anyone regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, disability, or social status.
The forms of GBV identified included: ✔️ Sexual Violence
✔️ Physical Violence
✔️ Emotional/Psychological Violence
✔️ Economic Violence
The meeting provided an important platform for learning, sharing experiences, and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders in the fight against GBV and the promotion of gender equality.

Today, Koimugul Indigenous Women Network in partnership with the Anti-FGM Board held a community meeting in Baringo County bringing together indigenous communities, including the Endorois and Ilchamus people, to discuss and strengthen efforts towards ending FGM.
Together, we continue to raise awareness, empower communities, and advocate for the protection of girls’ and women’s rights.
