SEED FAIR MASHINANI: MY SEEDS, MY FOOD, MY FUTURE!
Today, Koimugul Indigenous Women Network (KIWN) held a Seed Fair Mashinani, bringing farmers together to exchange indigenous seeds, share knowledge, and celebrate our rich agricultural heritage.
Through this initiative, farmers are strengthening seed sovereignty, preserving indigenous seed varieties, promoting agroecology, and building community resilience against climate change.
Indigenous women are at the heart of this movement, keeping traditional knowledge alive and ensuring that our seeds are preserved for future generations.
Our seeds, our heritage. Our knowledge, our strength. Our food, our future!
Together, we are building resilient communities and safeguarding future generations.

Today, Koimugul Indigenous Women Network constructed shelves for our traditional seed bank using locally available materials.
This initiative will help us safely store and preserve our indigenous seeds for future planting seasons, while promoting food security, biodiversity conservation, and the preservation of Indigenous knowledge.

Today, Koimugul Indigenous Women Network (KIWN) partnership with Forum for Women in Development, Democracy and Justice distributed humanitarian support to displaced people living along Lake Bogoria.
This initiative reflects our commitment to standing with vulnerable communities during difficult times. We are grateful to everyone who supported this effort and helped bring hope, dignity, and relief to affected families.

Using locally available materials, women were able to construct their own vertical gardens. This simple, affordable and sustainable practice is helping women make the most of limited space while growing nutritious food at home.
Most importantly, the activity ended with smiles, confidence and a sense of achievement.
