Today we come together to celebrate International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the strength, achievements, and contributions of women in our communities and across the world.
International Women’s Day is not only a celebration but also a moment to reflect on the journey women have taken in the fight for equality, justice, and opportunity. Over the years, women have played critical roles in shaping families, communities, economies, and nations. From leadership and education to business and community development, women continue to be a powerful force for positive change.
However, while we celebrate progress, we must also acknowledge the challenges that many women still face. Around the world and even within our communities, women continue to experience inequality in education, employment, leadership, and access to resources. Gender-based violence, discrimination, and cultural barriers still prevent many women and girls from reaching their full potential.
This day reminds us that achieving gender equality is not only a women’s issue—it is a responsibility for all of us. When women succeed, communities prosper, economies grow, and societies become stronger and more just.
We must continue to empower women and girls through education, leadership opportunities, economic empowerment, and equal participation in decision-making processes. We must support young women to raise their voices, take leadership roles, and actively participate in shaping the future of our societies.
Let us also recognize and appreciate the women in our lives—our mothers, sisters, daughters, colleagues, and leaders—who inspire us every day with their resilience, courage, and determination.
As we mark this important day, let us renew our commitment to building a society where women and men have equal opportunities, where girls can dream without limits, and where every woman’s voice is heard and respected.
Together, let us work towards a future of equality, dignity, and empowerment for all women and girls.
Happy International Women’s Day.

International Day of Girls and Women in Science is vital to Promote full and equal participation of women and girls in science and Break barriers and stereotypes that limit girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). We celebrate the achievements of women scientists globally. Women are still underrepresented in many STEM fields.
Girls often face social, cultural, and economic barriers.
Encouraging girls in science boosts innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development.
In Kenya, the day is important for:Encouraging girls in rural and marginalized communities.Supporting STEM clubs in schools (like the girls’ STEM initiatives you’ve shown interest in)in line with CBE and currently emerging science and technology innovations. Promoting mentorship, scholarships, and leadership in science and technology. We join girls at Mwaani in marking this important day

International Day of Education : Education shapes leadership, character and shifts mindset

SHRRC champions values-based education that nurtures character, strengthens families, and equips young people with leadership skills to become agents of sustainable development.

On this International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment to education for girls that transforms minds, communities, and nations.

In partnership with Arrow entertainment we joined learners in Marimanti to Mark and emphasize on the value-based education.

The week has been a bomb of meaningful engagement between the government, the CSOs, the European Union and the WECF . This collaborative mechanism has demonstrated the goodwill between all the parties and committments towards the same. With Femnet and SDG Kenya enhancing partnerships weve been able to understand the government priorities and the role of CSOs in accountability. With 14 Grassroot CSOs nationally sub granted by the EU, the road to the balance seems promising.

Green transition, governance, peace and security are key areas in Kenya.Human Centered Digitalisation has become very essential in every day life. How can CSOs continue to engage with partners and the government to ensure that the implementation of digitalisation agenda remains, inclusive, right based and responsive to the needs of marginalised groups?
The EU-YSB advocates for inclusive structured dialogues. With 14 CSOs being subgranted to implement the META project. With the Presidential Advisor on Women Issues Hon.Harriet Chiggai among other gender experts encouraged youths and young women to come up with strategic ways to embrace digital literacy to narrow the gaps of both trust and accountability.

We are a great supporter of women in leadership. Women have shown that they can lead, the have shown value in spaces where they had been left out.Ita a disgrace to the feminist world to see a woman who has been talking about dictatorship, patriarchy, democracy and justice rise and do the same.May the Lord help Tanzania
