PLANTING 24,000 TREES IN 24 HOURS
What a moment?!
This morning at exactly 11.00 am i flagged off our EMC youthful son Hillary Kiplagat aka Buzeki at Kameza ,Kessup Forest as he embarks on an historic journey into the guiness book of records.

‎Hillary is planning to plant at least 24,000 seedlings in 24 hours on 30.15 ha at Kessup Forest Station in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.

‎The official Guinness World Record for the most trees planted by an individual in 24 hours is 23,060, achieved by Canadian tree planter Antoine Moses in La Crete, Alberta, Canada, on July 17, 2021.

The Kenya Forest Service team led by the Regional Forest Conservator for North Rift Mr. John Rono and the County Forest Conservator Mr. Richard Guya are on hand to guide support him in his attempt together with many partners.

Together with KY4C – Kapsoya Youth for Change, NACADA, Kenya Red Cross, and many other organisations, we joined the Community Clean-up and Pad Donation Drive.

We collected waste, restored cleanliness to our environment, and supported girls with sanitary pads — because a clean planet and women’s dignity go hand in hand.

This is exactly what GreenHer stands for: protecting our environment, fighting plastic pollution, and empowering women and youth in climate action.

Small actions by many hands create big change!

Thank you to everyone who turned up — we made Marakwet greener today 💚

02.02.2026

Today we celebrated World Wetlands Day by planting indigenous trees along the riparian land of Kaptalamwa wetlands — healing our water sources and empowering women & youth in Marakwet West.

Special thanks to NEMA, Water Fund, and KFS officials for being with us, guiding us, and believing in community-led conservation.

We’re proud to start strong — restoring nature while protecting our people from drought and risks. More trees, more training, more impact coming!
