A position comes with a title, but a legacy is built through the lives one touches.
The Mandera United Students Alliance (MUSA) joins the people of Mandera in honouring the distinguished service of the County Director of Education, Mandera, as he begins his well-deserved retirement.
His contribution to education in Mandera cannot be measured only through policies, programmes, or the responsibilities of his office. It can also be found in the students he encouraged, the young people he mentored, the teachers he supported, and the many lives he influenced through his words, guidance, and example.
For many students, he was more than a senior education official. He was a voice of encouragement and a source of direction. Through education forums, mentorship engagements, school visits, public talks, and interactions with learners and young people, he consistently reminded students that their circumstances should never become the limits of their dreams.
His words carried a message that many young people needed to hear: education is a pathway to possibility, discipline is a foundation for success, and every learner has the capacity to become something greater than their present circumstances.
Many students who encountered his talks and mentorship may remember particular words, pieces of advice, or moments of encouragement that gave them renewed confidence to continue pursuing their education. Some were challenged to think bigger. Others were encouraged to remain focused when the journey became difficult. That influence is perhaps one of the most valuable parts of his legacy.
His leadership also brought together teachers, school administrators, learners, parents, and education stakeholders around a shared responsibilityโto protect the quality of education and create an environment where every learner can aspire, learn, and succeed.
As he retires, Mandera does not simply bid farewell to a County Director. We celebrate a mentor whose influence travelled beyond his office; an educationist whose voice reached classrooms and communities; and a public servant who understood that investing in young people is investing in the future of Mandera.
To the many students he has spoken to, guided, encouraged, and mentored over the years, his retirement is not an end to that influence. The lessons remain. The encouragement remains. The inspiration remains.
As you begin this new chapter, may you have time to enjoy the fruits of your service, surrounded by peace, family, good health, and happiness.
May Allah reward you abundantly for the lives you have touched, the young minds you have encouraged, and the service you have rendered to the people of Mandera. May He grant you a retirement filled with barakah, tranquillity, fulfilment, and lasting joy.
Congratulations on a career of service, mentorship, and impact.
