< What is M.Y.F.E.M? >
M.Y.F.E.M - Malindi youth For Environment Movement registered in 1999 as a youth environment, education and sports movement. It has a secretariat with overseers, trustees, and office bearers. It has its head quarters at the Wildlife Club of Kenya Malindi Office, Sea front road Malindi town. M.Y.F.E.M has partnened by MALINDI UNITED LIMITED - A company formed to market educat
ion and sports among the school going students. The company is based at Alaskan ground Malindi,KWS Malindi,WCK Malindi and Malindi Sub County Unit.
< What do M.Y.F.E.M do? >
It mobilizes young people at the age of 17 years and 18 years boys and girls after mobilization those mobilized are taken to school and given education after that those young people are involved in other extra activities such as environmental conservation and management, public health awareness/ campaign, sports and cleanups /tree planting events.
< Why do M.Y.F.E.M do that ? >
M.Y.F.E.M is very much concerned with the plight of the children especially those living in coastal areas such as Watamu, Malindi, Mamburui and Ngomeni. There is a lot of immoral activities going around in these town such as drug addiction, young prostitution, child labor, school drop out among young people and early marriages. So MYFEM decided to take this initiatives with other stake holders so that to try and help this young people understand that there is also good life from the once they are seeing in town if they can accept to go to school and change their behaviors. M.Y.F.E.M discovered that those young people who are doing those immoral activities are either orphans, poor or single parent children.

To identify, nurture and develop talent to its fullest potential and with the predominant focus being on individual and team development on a long term basic, our goal is to provide players / students with quality / Environment knowledge /Sports/ Education as well as development to improve their overall ability and thrive in sports at a competitive level while having fun and enjoying the game. MYFEM YOUTH GROUP PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of our group is to develop the youngsters into skillful team players who love environmental conservation, management and sports. Through this beautiful game we hope to instill within all of our players/ members the values of commitment, good training, persistence, perseverance, teamwork, integrity / a sense of community and desire to strive for excellence in the efforts to attain their goals. We are fully aware of the fact that other sports, social, religious and educational experiences are equally important to successfully developing a child into a well rounded individual and into a useful citizen of the country, which is why we stand by the principle of tolerance regardless of colour, beliefs or ethnicity. Our aims also are to provide the necessary experience which each player/member needs at such a formative age in their development as our country’s sports history proves of the neglect of youth development for decades. The purpose also is to safeguard, encourage and support the expansion of sports opportunities for young players who exhibit the ability and interest of the game. Our approach is to focus on the development of each child as both skilled player and a good team player while also striving to create positive life – long attitudes and values among our players / members. THE CHALLENGES
Undeniably, as the population continues to grow and the economic woes currently strangling the country worsening, we are faced with ever – increasing issues of petty and big crimes, drug addiction, homelessness and all sorts of social unrest. It is obvious that it is the social issues, whether individual or general that contributes to most of the crime that occurs country wide, hence for this noble idea of initiating an ambitious project that intends to keep our youngsters off the streets and create useful human beings for the society. Coast province has its sports history which cannot be erased out of the minds of the locals who keep on reminding the current generation of the exploits of their predecessors so we cannot stress the reason for the deterioration of the standards caused by the impact of bad governance of the game in our country for decades which has directly dented the careers of many innocent and talented young sports players whom we sympathize with, but with opportunities of playing professional sports blooming worldwide, we are sure we can assist the talented youngsters in benefiting from this game. We seek to expand our membership in order to share our sports/ environmental activities with as many other people as possible. We are especially committed to sharing the values of our sports with young and old people who may discover that sports are an activity they can enjoy for their entire life.

We want sports to receive as much publicity as possible because we believe that the more people learn about our sports the more inclined they will be to join the ranks of our membership. We are proud of our sports and we seek to celebrate it whenever possible.
