We have today participated in a high-level inception meeting convened at Greenpark Social Hall to advance ethics and accountability through the establishment of Integrity Clubs in higher learning institutions across Makueni County.
The initiative will be rolled out in Makueni University College, Kenya Medical Training College – Mbuvo Campus, and MICETI, institutions that play a critical role in shaping the county’s next generation of leaders and professionals.
The forum brought together Civil Society Organizations, representatives from higher learning institutions, officials from the Ministry of Interior, and county government representatives to build a shared understanding of Integrity Clubs and their contribution to anti-corruption efforts.
Discussions emphasized youth engagement as a governance tool, civic participation as a democratic responsibility, and the integration of digital tools to strengthen transparency and reporting mechanisms.
At YSD, we believe ethical leadership begins with informed, empowered young people. Strengthening integrity systems within learning institutions is not just preventive, it is transformative. By institutionalizing Integrity Clubs, we are creating structured platforms where students can actively champion accountability, responsible leadership, and sustainable development.
The future of governance in Makueni depends on the values we cultivate today.
