Kibwezi Center for Sustainability (KCS) is a grassroot non-for-Profit organization involved in promoting environment conservation, gender balance, access to education, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and public health care services with an aim of increasing socio-economic empowerment, improving food security and safety, promoting equality and equity, climate change resilience, and improv

ing ecological balance, thus achieving sustainable development. KCS provides a holistic gender-sensitive approach of a fully integrated three-pronged solution that combines social, environmental and economic aspects of promoting sustainable development in line with the UN sustainable development goals agenda of 2030, AU agenda 2063, Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the National Development Plan of Kenya. KCS has an affiliate voluntary group of members under the name Kibwezi Wellwishers, which has three chapters namely: Coast, Nairobi Metropolitan and Highway chapters, that organize and conduct charity events in line with KCS objectives. Further, KCS partners with community members, local government, corporates, sponsors and donors to successfully implement projects and hold impactful events. Target population
KCS operates within the Counties of Makueni, Kitui, Machakos, Nairobi and Mombasa. Our targets populations are rural communities that are constrained socially, culturally and economically mainly needy students and girls, whom are exposed to abuse, r**e, early pregnancies, forced/early marriages and period poverty, thus dropping out of school and denied their freedom of choice and expression.

Wote Cleaning & Greening Initiative 🌱

Yesterday, Kibwezi Wellwishers – Wote Chapter successfully organized the Wote Cleaning and Greening Activity, bringing together partners and community members in a collective effort to promote environmental conservation and improve cleanliness within Wote town.

The initiative was supported by partners including Kenya Red Cross, Kaa ni Kaitu Movement, Kiseki Limited, Wote Municipality, and dedicated volunteers from the community who turned up to make the activity a success.

Key activities of the day included garbage collection across streets and public spaces as well as tree planting at Ndue Ngui, aimed at restoring greenery and enhancing environmental sustainability within the town.

The exercise not only improved the cleanliness of Wote but also helped raise awareness on the importance of protecting our environment. It demonstrated the power of collaboration, showing how organizations and community members can work together to build a cleaner, greener, and healthier Wote for everyone. 🌳

Yesterday, Kibwezi Wellwishers – Highway Chapter spent a beautiful and meaningful day at Tumbuni Children’s Home in Emali. ❤️

Together we prepared a common meal, planted over 50 fruit and shade trees 🌳, danced and shared joyful moments with the children, enjoyed a meal together, and handed over assorted food and non-food gifts to support the home.

It was a day filled with laughter, love, and community spirit.

We sincerely appreciate all Kibwezi Wellwishers members who contributed and showed up for this noble cause. Your generosity continues to make a real difference.

Special thanks to our partners for their invaluable support: Giraffe Center, Wote Municipality, and Equity Bank Kibwezi.

Together, we continue to plant seeds of hope for a brighter future.

World Cancer Day Talk 2026 – “United by Unique”

Join us tomorrow, 04 February 2026, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM for an inspiring and insightful conversation as we mark World Cancer Day with powerful voices in medicine, education, and lived experience.

We are honored to host Dr. Cyrus Matheka, Consultant Clinical Pathologist and Health Systems Specialist, a lecturer at Aga Khan University, Nairobi, with vast experience in laboratory medicine, health financing, and universal health coverage. His expertise in cancer diagnostics, particularly blood cancers brings critical insight to this important dialogue.

We will also be joined by Salome Nthenya Maundu, a courageous cancer survivor, accomplished educational leader, and Head of Institution at Ngomano DEB Primary School in Kibwezi East. As Chairperson of KEPSHA, Kambu Sub-County, she continues to shape education and inspire resilience in her community.

Hosted by Everlyne Mueni and moderated by Kaprince, this conversation promises hope, awareness, and collective action in the fight against cancer.

🎓 KIWEWE Supports Transition to Senior School

Kibwezi Well Wishers (KIWEWE) continues to champion access to education for needy and deserving children within the community. On 16th January 2026, one of our beneficiaries, Irene, was successfully admitted to St. Mary’s Kinyambu Secondary School to join Senior School (Grade 10).

Irene is fully sponsored by KIWEWE, alongside other supported learners, as part of the organization’s commitment to empowering young people through education. Her admission marks an important milestone in her academic journey and reflects the impact of collective community support.

She was accompanied during the admission process by Geoffrey Musyoki ( Kaprince ) and Everlyne Mueni officials of Kibwezi Well Wishers (KIWEWE), who ensured a smooth transition and offered encouragement as she embarked on this new chapter.

KIWEWE remains dedicated to nurturing hope, dignity, and opportunity through education, staying true to its mission of “Wia witu ni kwika nesa.”

Thank you Kibwezi Wellwishers for supporting the initiative 🙏

Monitoring progress at Kiu Wetland

The trees are growing well, a clear sign that protection and coordinated action are working. Fencing of critical sections and continuous presence of rangers from the Kenya Forest Service have greatly reduced degradation and accelerated natural regeneration.

This restoration journey is driven by strong collaboration between government, community, and partners, including Kibwezi Wellwishers / Kibwezi Center for Sustainability, Friends of Kiu Catchment, Captain Green KE, Seedballs Kenya, My Green Institution, KEFRI, KFS, EQUITY BANK, KCB BANK, and the support of leaders such as Mutula Kilonzo Jr.

Together with relevant government bodies and the local community, these efforts—tree growing, soil bunds and trenches, protection, and advocacy—are steadily restoring the ecological health of Kiu Wetland.

Healthy trees today, a protected wetland for generations to come.

Thank you Wellwishers Ngui & Martin Mutua for monitoring the progress
